"Hmmm... 'Here be Dragons' ... no wonder Bush never sent our troops in after Bin Laden at Tora Bora. I think it's time for a new map."

"Hmmm... you have stimulated me... let us return to the sleep chamber immediately!"

"You're such a nice boy... will you please take me to see The President?"

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Reagan, but please tell your astrologer that I don't change my personal schedule according to my horoscope."

"... So then Bush asks, 'How many is a Brazilain?'"

Just leave the poor chap alone. Having a barrage of photographers and microphones and sound editors and producers is bad for anyone's health: humans and dogs.

Although the pic saddens me a bit because Hillary's "wing" was intact then. I hope that she's not in too much pain.

BTW, I wonder what magazine Joe has in his hand.

29. She canceled her overseas trip.
She's also not at State today. I'm glad that she's not traveling right now. Aside from the discomfort of the surgery and cast, it must be a royal pain not to be able to use one's dominant hand.

Imagine the problems getting dressed, showering, eating, etc.

;(

If it were me, I would stay in my PJs with plenty of good ice cream and Diet Coke to go around. I would also have Bill at my beck and call: Honey could you please fluff my pillow, bring me some juice, pass me the remote control, etc. LOL!!

I'm tired of looking at dudes talking policy. And there's only one woman who gets to discuss Financials...Romer. And she's academia. Obama needs someone who has worked on Wall Street to show him how the sharks operate. I'd be happy to do that.

There should be a Gov't Rep on every trading floor in the country. And attending every board meeting...that is if you are serious about REGULATING GREED AND LOOKING OUT FOR THE NORMAL CITIZEN...OOPS, I MEAN CONSUMER.

I'm a she - and not a woman-hating she either - so no bias here!

Come on femrap, part of your first post in this thread read "He has lived up to my very low opinion of him. Just another one of the boyz." That wasn't an objection to the choice of photographs, that was an implication that he doesn't listen to women on policy matters. But then we listed out Hillary Clinton, Valerie Jarrett, Hilda Solis, Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius, Susan Rice, Lisa Jackson, etc, etc...And then there's the The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009...so

52. First of all...your gender is NOT
listed in your profile. I have no idea what you are. How am I supposed to know? I don't read minds yet.

I wanted to see photos of him in the oval office talking with women....like the many that were shown talking to men.

That's all I asked.

I never bought into his Grand Marketing Plan to get elected. I voted for him, but I certainly didn't campaign for him. I saw where he was getting all his $$$$....Wall Street (where I worked for years).

I thanked him for my bone when he signed the Ledbetter Act. And so now I can ask the dude next to me what he makes?

As Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman to win a State's Primary said: "Men are men."

You have no idea who he listens to. Neither do I...but those pictures are worth a thousand words. It's always Geithner and Summers....you never see Romer, do you? Only the boyz can touch the money and look at the piss poor job they have done. This is the BIGGEST HEIST ever. And we will pay....we are already paying.

Just you wait until the Dollar is devalued.

I looked thru a number of your pictures and I saw one with 2 women in it for a morning meeting. Well, I saw their backs.

He has done exactly what I thought he would.... and I believe he gave one of those women...Valerie, I believe, an extra job of watching out for 'The Women's Cause.' See, she does 2 jobs for the price of one.

And go read the Jan. '08 Vanity Fair article where Michelle is interviewed. Eye opening.

And did you hear the answer to a child's question when they were planting the garden? Child asks: So Michelle, what do you do around the White House? Michelle says she is lucky and doesn't have to make any hard decisions. She just gets to have fun and play with Bo. I nearly puked. I don't know who is 'handling her' but I don't like the message one iota. She's an accomplished attorney who brought down $300,000/year so hubby could go play 'Community Activist.' He has been groomed since his stint as prez of The Harvard Law Review.

I think he likes women OK...as long as they are doing what he wants them to. That is my feeling.

:wtf: We're living in a patriarchy...how else do you think it would be?

I'm not going to apologize for my opinion of him.

When he does something for the women of Darfur and when he addresses the lack of dna testing on rape kits, he'll get a better opinion from me.

OK?:toast:

56. Well...
Who knows, we'll see how his presidency works out, but I haven't yet detected the condescending attitude towards women that you feels he has. The role Valerie Jarrett has played in his career so far, as well as the fact that most - all? - of the major role models in his life were women, suggests to me that he isn't a man who has a 'problem' with women.

We'll see.

63. Yes, we will.
When he declared to run for Prez, I did extensive reading on him. The Black Agenda Report was one place I looked. Again, the Vanity Fair interview of Michelle in '08 was eye-opening.

Funny, that women raised him and he wrote a book about his father. He was also quoted as saying how he heard his maternal grandmother say she was afraid of Black men. If I cared about my grandmother, I would have never said that to the public. She was a product of her time and our culture teaches that fear. (I'm more afraid of rich white boyz...in particular the short ones).

Again, he has no problem with women as long as they do as he wants.

He needs someone who understands Wall Street to advise him...someone who has worked there. Not a bunch of academia. Gov't reps need to infiltrate Goldman Sachs...watch those sharks like hawks....Hey we could use stimulus money for those Jobs!!!

Ledbetter....a nice bone. I thanked him.

TALKING TO WOMEN IN THE OVAL OFFICE....preferably like the ones of the boyz where they are joking around and he is not standing over them.

Hey, I look at the pictures and I see what I see.

When I first asked where were the women, I got swearing-in pictures.

I wanted to see the women in the oval office....not at a picnic table.

So how are those women in Darfur doing???? If anyone needs money and guns, they do. Go read up on fistula. And all the DNA Rape Kits sitting on shelves here in the good ol' US of A...maybe we could use some of that fucking stimulus money on getting more Testers instead of paving stupid roads.

One of the first cuts in budgets is Domestic Abuse help, child care assistance, and help for the elderly. This time is no different.

It's a damn patriarchy...I do commend him for telling the boyz to be fathers yesterday. Just how many thousands of single mothers are just getting by cuz the boyz are just being boyz.

Oh...FYI. There are millions of people who are disappointed in him. I'm not the only one who doesn't see the Change he promised. Go yell at someone else. Dick.

You wanted this "Could the OP try to find some photos with him talking or LISTENING to a woman other than his wife, daughter, mother-in-law?"

Pics were posted for you where his talking to women and we see the women he works with (who he OBVIOUSLY talks to), now you can shut up about it. But nooo now your crying about the location. Grow the hell up.

72. Eleanor wouldn't be too
pleased at your words. The pics shown were swearing-ins of the various women. If you hadn't heard, a picture is worth a thousand words.

See how he jokes with the boyz in the oval office? I saw one photo where he stood over 2 women sitting on the sofa.

Eleanor would have noticed exactly what I did. If you want to keep your eyes closed to where women stand in this culture, go ahead.

Now get out there smile at all the boyz. I'll just ignore you. Lotsa luck.

20. Great photos, but ...
why do people feel the need to pretend it was a good thing that that piece of crap Reagan was ever born and lived to wreak havoc on this country and this planet?

Fuck Ronald Reagan. I wish I believed in hell so I could imagine him burning to a crisp.

41. President Obama looks like he is praying or meditating
That he communicates to the people in a way that is comforting and understandable.

Oh Jakeens, you are so sweet and such a loved person. You always keep us posted with wonderful pictures and I thank you very much. You are an asset to DU and I always look for your postings. O8)

60. I know it isn't your caption, but the caption to #13 is wrong
The cap says that he was on his way to Dulles to board AF1, AF1 is at Andrews AFB, not at Dulles. You would think the WH would know better.

Great pics Jackeens :hi:

62. You are eagle-eyed MiniMe! But my fault, left out the important bit:
President Barack Obama boards Marine One on the South Lawn on the White House en route to Dulles International Airport, outside Washington, D.C., where he will board Air Force One for the flight to the Middle East and Europe, June 2, 2009. Air Force One departed from Dulles instead of Andrews Air Force Base as it needed a longer runway because of the fuel load required to make the trip non-stop to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
