4. Macaroni
Many of us remember being envious. In recent years Caroline has said she's been surprised how many people mention him to her. She says he was mean.

2. ROFL at the caption for pic 6...
The First Family takes Bo out for a stroll on the South Lawn of the White House.

A stroll?? Oh god, I just love that picture! Bo is bounding exuberantly across the lawn dragging Pres Obama along with him and the rest of the family look like they've just run a marathon with that dog. As a dog lover who has experienced that exact same thing with my lab when she was a puppy I find this hilarious!

5. That picture is almost sweet,
so I have to believe that he is whispering some threat in that dog's ear.

26. No wonder Barney was cantankerous!!!
The Doofus in Chief kept dropping him. I would have bitten a reporter in frustration too.

He had a good long life and was living with President Clinton's secretary, Betty Currie.

15. White House Dog Photographed, Remains Cute

The Obama family's dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog, poses on the South Lawn of the White House. (Official White House Photo by Chuck Kennedy)
There's not much we can tell you about the just-released official White House portrait of First Puppy Bo Obama ... except that, yes, he's still adorable, and still treating his office with the dignity and respect it deserves. (That dignity and respect, of course, includes his penchant for munching on jackets and microphones belonging to journalists.)

18. Loved 'em all. I especially liked Ford's Liberty. Lincoln had Fido. Here's a pic.
Back then, the Lincoln family left Fido in Springfield with friends when he went to the White House. Apparently, Fido was a home boy, and terrified of loud noises. So Lincoln left him with good friends rather than subject him to a long and noisy train ride to DC. Anyway, here's a pic of Fido.

Looks like a sweetie pie. Of course. A brief excerpt:

"Fido often followed Lincoln around the streets of Springfield, happily carrying the daily paper or some other object for his master. The dog would wait calmly outside the barbershop while Lincoln would get a trim. Fido was apparently a full-fledged member of the family and was an inside dog with the run of the house. He loved a horsehair sofa in the home and often claimed it for his own."

We love our doggies. When they throw the dirt over me, some of my finest moments in life have been the love I've shared with my doggies and kitties.

I think Fido and I would have got along splendidly. So long as he liked his tweats.

25. Fido appears to have been a terrific dog.
None of the dogs we've ever had would have carried the paper for us. Slobbered over it, torn it to bits, yes; carried it, no.
