FauxNews New Meme: Obama invites "hot dog diplomacy".
I kid you not. Seems the administration may allow invitations to Iranian diplomats for Fourth of July events. :wow:

What a clownshow.

1. They are going to allow the invites to stand. With people being
murdered and brutalized over there, I'm not sure I agree with this.

US says hot dog diplomacy still on with Iran

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The United States said Monday its invitations were still standing for Iranian diplomats to attend July 4 celebrations at US embassies despite the crackdown on opposition supporters.

President Barack Obama's administration said earlier this month it would invite Iran to US embassy barbecues for the national holiday for the first time since the two nations severed relations following the 1979 Islamic revolution.

"There's no thought to rescinding the invitations to Iranian diplomats," State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters.

"We have made a strategic decision to engage on a number of fronts with Iran," Kelly said. "We tried many years of isolation, and we're pursuing a different path now."

But he said it was not clear if Iranian diplomats had accepted the invitations.

The State Department has said that the invitations are largely a symbolic gesture of goodwill and that the July 4 barbecues were not intended to take up substantive policy matters.

Obama has walked a tightrope since the violence broke out in Iran, urging the Islamic regime to end its repression of protests but insisting he will not let Tehran's leaders cast the United States as a bogeyman.

Obama could bring about world peace and Fox's talking point would be;

Obama's socialist policy will hurt the economy by limited defense spending.

3. Actually FDR invented hot dog diplomacy.
Eleanor actually tried to feed the King and Queen of England hot dogs. According to Eleanor, though, the queen couldn't eat them--her mouth wasn't big enough.

5.  bush snubbed his nose at everyone..
including Cindy Sheehan and came out of the stolen presidency as the worst Deceiver in history.

Now we have someone who is 180 degrees.. "Obama's defining political trait is the belief that conciliatory rhetoric is a ruthless strategy."

I don't care what the whiners say.

6. Diplomacy isn't just for people you like
Don't forget, America maintained diplomatic relations with Germany and Japan right up until war was declared.

And Soviet Russia and America maintained embassies during the whole of the Cold War.

So, unless America declares war on Iran, I see no reason why diplomacy shouldn't be tried.
