MSNBC is not reporting the news they're creating it
MSNBC just ran hours of nearly uninterrupted barrages against CBS and what they are calling RATHERGATE. That's not reporting the news, that's making it. Dan Rather didn't lie, he didn't steal documents, it's not comparable.

Chris Matthews just ended his show by saying this WILL influence the election in favor of George Bush. Again that is not reporting the news, it's MAKING the news. They are unashamedly trying to influence public opinion in favor of George Bush.

I hope the viewers at home watching this trash can see through it.

2. With 100 channels,
I hope the viewers at home are watching something else. Msnbc is hardly in a position to influence public opinion with .2 ratings.

Its 2 am PDT and I am listening to Raytal. He has real influence and a much bigger audience.

3. Not to worry...
have you seen the ratings for Tweety's show?? Very low. We think that the cable "news" programs are a big deal. However Average Joe Voter does not.

In the grand scheme of things Tweety et al matter very, very little.

5. I think I will just walk into CNN and ask if I could interview Judy..
I would love to interview her and ask her LIVE...Now tell me about you and Al Hunt being cursed out in a resturant by Bush and how did that make you feel especially covering the news today? I mean Judy, did he apologize or was that not one of his mistakes? Did he compensate you or why do you defend him?

19. I don't think MSNBC has a mil viewers
they are last among the Cable News crew and far far far behind the big 3 networks. NBC and ABC are trying to leverage this against CBS for marketshare but at least the crap they shovel on MSNBC isn't going to affect much.

Last I heard the Freepers wouldn't watch MSNBC because it was too "liberal"...and I doubt many of the DUers watching it are going to switch votes because of Tweety spillage.

A whole lot of these shills know their days are numbered...will be funny to watch them sing that different tune when Kerry gets elected.

6. It's sad
They are totally losing sight of the real story, Bush's lack of duty. Who cares about Rather and CBS, etc. That is not important. They are making that the story. It was a mistake, move on. Get on with the investigation or drop it. I would say the same if it was on the Republican side.

8. for a better life
stop watching the jerks, the whole lot of them, Carvele & Beguala (sp?)included. "Hey Arnold" on the cartoon Chanel has more valid social commentary.

9. Yep, I watched Kerry's speech on CPSAN
and then turned on some music, slept very soundly. :)

But, I will throw in a plug for Olberman, he has the best tv newscast going right now.

11. They Assume They Need To Be The Story
Their research shows people don't want to hear some boring roundtable on the defecit or even want to see a parade of Generals and military types. The hot thing is people tearing each other to shreads...food fights galore.

There's no news being reported...since that is far less cost effective than grabbing a bunch of paid talking heads, throwing them in studios and having them bitch and moan and trash. Facts and major issues take a back seat to gossip and parsing. It's a game the Repugnicans play damn well, too.

The media is having an identity crisis...is it the "liberul media/MSM", like the wingnuts say...or does it cater to the largest rated audience...the Joe Fauxpack crowd...or does it tap into that underserved younger F911/Daily Show audience? They can't figure which way the wind is blowing...so might as well bash Democrats, that gets a reaction any which way.

There some serious conflicts going on in the fifth estate. And nothing gets their hairs risen like a feeding frenzy among themselves. If Dan Rather determines who your vote is on election day, that's just another lame excuse for enabling this regime...nothing more, nothing less.

Cheers!

12. This is all part of the dumbing down of America. It works well for power
when it comes to pre-war Iraq debate...the people don't have a clue. They are un-informed...just the way power likes it.

they're talking about themselves--their favorite subject.
