Palin: I'd come out ahead in run against Obama
Edited on Tue Jun-30-09 03:25 PM by ccharles000
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she'd come out ahead if she went one-on-one with fellow jogger President Barack Obama in a long run, according to an interview published online Tuesday.

"I betcha I'd have more endurance," she told Runner's World magazine. "My one claim to fame in my own little internal running circle is a sub-four marathon. What I lacked in physical strength or skill, I made up for in determination and endurance."

Palin, a 45-year-old former beauty queen who became the first woman and youngest person to be elected Alaska's governor, is featured in the August issue of the magazine for jogging aficionados. She was dubbed the country's "hottest" governor when she stole the show as U.S. Sen. John McCain's presidential running mate in 2008.

In the interview, she talks about her fondness for running, which is perhaps why the mother of five who gave birth to a baby boy last year is able to keep trim. The magazine on Tuesday published an extended version on its Web site.

Even if she lasts to 2012 she wouldn't have a snowballs chance in Tahiti.

5. She might
Obama is a smoker and as such, may not have the wind to finish a marathon. But I'll certainly take Obama over Palin in any elected office anytime. Bush is a runner to. And we all know how he turned out as President.
And besides, Obama would clean her clock in basketball.

13. There is a story coming up on MSNBC about the McCain camp trashing Palin
Edited on Tue Jun-30-09 03:42 PM by DeschutesRiver
don't know what it is about yet, but I am expecting more to be dumped upon Palin's head in the near term. If some of her secrets and crap are about to finally be spilled, she won't outrun it this time.

Buh bye Sanford, Jindal, and Palin. And Palin is inflicting enough damage on her own - to stay in the spotlight, she is completely ignoring issue driven topics, like the energy plan she promised way back when, and sticking to National Enquirer level stuff - how she can outrun Obama, how jokes go completely over her head, how she can plagurize jokes about Kerry's long face with the best of them.

She is nothing but a bit player now - not only not national, but not even good even for local politics. I'd imagine the national forward looking republicans will just finish her off now, and she will fade onto the pages of gossip rags, where she will remain (and still probably think she is very relevant and cutting edge).

Just another wierdo.

18. John McCain is a real nasty bitch, that way. If you want to destroy Palin, just do nothing.
She's doing fine on her own. Or hell, let her stay popular. She's the surest bet for a Democratic presidential victory. Maybe we should encourage our Republican friends to save her until 2016--about the time the neocons want "Hope Fatigue" to kick in.

31. McCain is damaged goods for sure. His camp probably had to let some time pass
before they dumped on Palin, so that they didn't look foolish for promoting her so hard during the campaign. But they are wrong - they look even more stupid now.

I am of both views, too - I want her to shoot her foot off at the hip and be banished from the headlines, but damn, I would love too to see her run and ensure another democratic victory. Regardless of what I want, Palin is enough of a meathead that she will keep doing whatever she can to self promote, and I just don't think she can stop herself from imploding long before the next election. She just doesn't possess that kind of good judgment or wisdom.

14. bwahahahahahahahaha
She is in the spotlight for one reason and one reason only. The repugs knew they had no chance after douchebag fucked over our country for eight years so they threw out McPalin, choosing her not because they wanted a woman... They chose her to give the illusion they care about women or womens rights. They also know that 2012 is a lost cause so they are keeping her out there to try and maintain the illusion.

The one thing these folks have in common is that their megalomania eventually gets crushed by the real world.
