Romney, Pawlenty, Newt, Jindal, Rudy will destroy Palin for us!!
Which is bad because I would love Obama to be able to run against her.

The funny thing about Palin running for president in 2012 is that the people running against her will destroy her. The GOP promary season will be a blood bath if Palin is in the mix. I am not a fan of any of them but all of them are more qualified than Palin is. They will destroy her before she gets Iowa done.

Palin's base will never leave her but it also cannot get her elected.

1. The beauty is
Whomever in the GOP attacks her will feel the wrath of the loony 'base'.

It is the best of all possible worlds in my view.

2. Some RW talkers have delusions of her or another person
running a third party. They want a "Conservative" instead of a republican. They also think a conservative nativist would peal a lot of dems. It is quite entertaining to listen to them try to figure out what to do.

13. Oh, it's hilarious.
They think that there is a significant number of Dems who would turn to a nativist after everyone is sick of globalists on both sides. A common theme amongst the RW talkers is either conservatism taking back the repuke party or conservatives starting their own party. And, of course SSarah is poster girl for what they want.

3. Palin's immature actions will be the end of her
I think many people are sick of her soap opera life being played out on tv everyday. This feud with her former soon-to-be son-in-law is just one example of how she cannot let go of any real or perceived slight. She is no "pitbull with lipstick". She is just another emotionally undeveloped, arrogant jerk.

4. Why on earth would we want to destroy Palin?
She couldn't be elected dog catcher in Catville. The last thing we want is for her to be destroyed. Republicans should flock to her as their one great hope.

That lineup has to find a way to get the loony wing out from under Palin.

8. None of them would beat Palin in the Republican Primary
Because the Hard Right. The big money people are in love with her. As well as the conservative Christians. He she runs, she will no doubt be the nominee

10. I think that's about right. Willard and Huck, IMO are the frontrunners,
provided they still want the nomination, which depends on whether they think the nomination is worth having.

Huckabee would seem to present the greatest demographic challenge and has charm to spare.

Willard would be formidable because he has all kinds of cash. Although he had all kinds of cash last time and could not defeat the hapless John McCain for the 08 nom.

The second-tier folks are a trail mix of losers. Stale old nuts like Newt Gingrich and Haley Barbour and fresh little yes-men like Tim Pawlenty, as well as misguided loons like Jindal.

If Palin runs in the GOP primary, and Willard and Huck are playing for blood, Palin loses big.

11. I think Rudy Giuliani is done for on the national stage, at least as far as
presidential politics is concerned.

There were several Republicans who ran miserable campaigns in the GOP primary in 08, but Rudy's was among the worst of the worst.

If Andrew Cuomo decides to run for Governor or New York, Rudy's interest in that job will likely remain just that, an interest, as Cuomo would be strongly favored to win.

And if events conspire to silence the voice of Rudy Guiliani from public discourse, so much the better.
