MSNBC/Shuster go after FR Monday! Freeperville meltdown!
Edited on Sat Jul-11-09 07:16 PM by Captain Lance Bass
"MSNBC to Cover Pulled Free Republic Thread on Monday's David Shuster Show
Twitter and Daily Kos | Saturday, July 11, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on Saturday, July 11, 2009 4:53:55 PM by kristinn

The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:

Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.

David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday"

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hope MSNBC goes after them EVERY week

"Isn’t Shuster the guy that gives Anderson and Shep a run for the lightest loafers in on TV?"

"Are we on Janet’s State’s Enemies List Now?"

More insanity here

They're all big and tough and will say anything when they think no one is looking.

When it turns out that people ARE looking, however, then it's someone else's fault.

If someone else put that stuff on the website, then why on earth did they put it back up? Why didn't the fearless leaders at FR take it down and *keep it down indefinitely* until they found out who made the comments?

If verified trolls made the comments, why weren't the threads taken down permanently, so the rest of FR wouldn't look bad? Not only were the comments put back up, folks ADDED ON additional inflammatory statements!

Own it, Freepers. It's YOURS. Act like adults for a change and take responsibility. The rest of us out here are actually using our brains and your excuses don't add up.

At least be like Stormfront and OWN your bigotry. I can respect Stormfront for that.

Ok I checked out the thread in question here: http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?2,760293,760781.
It looks like a majority of the offensive post were made by a poster “Manc”
“could you imagine what world leaders must be thinking seeing this kind of street trash and that we paid for this kind of street ghetto trash to go over there”

The poster had about 5-6 different posts in the thread all containing the “ghetto street trash” line. It looks extremely random and over the top I think this was Perry’s troll account.

Another comment calling Malia a “street whore” was made by “US Navy Vet” who just joined in April. So i think he is a troll also, there is no proof whatsoever that real freepers made these post.

3. Amazing that they would compare
that thread to pulled threads on DU and Kos. First of all a thread like that about the children of any Republican would have been locked almost immediately and not allowed to continue ad nauseam. We do police out own here. They have this whole "What did we do??" incredulou sattitude that is remarkable if for nothing other than its stupidity.

They think they are being clever and cute when they are really being racist assholes. I've been on DU for 8 years and have never ever seen anything remotely resembling that heap of smelly shit.

Malia chose to make a political statement by wearing the Chicken Feet shirt.
I thought it was disgusting that their dad allowed her to parade around dressed like someone from the hood.

This is the picture in question. Keep in mind that Malia is only 11 years old.
Personally, I can see why some feel that she is dressed inappropriately for an 11 year old, especially the daughter of the POTUS on an official trip. I fail to see where race has anything to do with it.

Is any criticism fair, particularly of the parents who let her dress this way? Or is this dress just fine? Or are we obligated to ignore politically charged icons worn by 11 year old girls on official trips paid for by the taxpayers?

"Hope she doesn’t get impregnated by A-Rod, I mean, after all, she is A HELL OF A LOT BETTER LOOKING than her maternal parent, wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Shuster?"

"You did know all Leftwingtards are "sterile" and cannot reproduce except by kidnapping"

"BS, it's a declaration of war against Vietnam Vets and other patriots.
NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, is allowed to change the meaning until the people it targets are all dead, and we ain't there yet.

Obama knew that and that's why he sent her out there in that T-shirt."

"You sure see a lot of peace signs in the ghetto!"

"If you ever needed a reason to toss a few bucks into the FReepathon...this should do it for you. We are under attack. They want us gone. Help keep the lights on......."

"Quite clever. At the same time it's beyond question our Leftwingtard President has sent his young daughter out to anger us with her political sign"

14. I think she looks pretty good
in that shirt, and it is not the first time I have seen the Obama kids in Peace oriented attire. The kids are going to a Quaker school, a place where I would expect to find peace signs fairly common. Quakers are pacifists, and while we don't require kids to be Quakers to attend, and do not prosletize, it would be hard to imagine that some of the values don't rub off on the students. The Quaker peace testimony being so central to all we do, it has to be somewhat evident.

Why is "peace" so "politically charged"? I would think that anyone who "cares for the troops" would rather that they did not have to die in battle. Peace is good for the troops. They get to come home in one piece and care for their kids.

27. They're still living in the 60s.
They claim that wearing a peace sign is an insult to Vietnam war veterans. They are stuck in the past and, for a lot of them, it is why they hate the people on the left. Supposedly war protesters spit on the soldiers when they came home from Vietnam. I don't think that there has ever been a documented incident of that actually happening, but right wingers bought the myth. They act like every soldier returning was spit on by their own personal bead draped, flower laden, stone-head hippie donned in tie-dyed attire adorn with a peace sign dangling from a silver chain.

It's time they grew up and got over the Vietnam war protests. The peace sign means world peace and were worn by people who weren't particularly interested in either themselves or their loved ones fighting in a truly unnecessary and contrived war. It isn't an insult to Vietnam Veterans. If they really think that, they need counseling. But no one wallows in tragedy like right wingers do. 9/11! 9/11! 9/11! Whaaa, whaaa, whaaa, daddy Bush hold me!

Yes, I see it now. Obama told Malia to wear that shirt, knowing full well that Freepers couldn't help themselves and would spew nasty sexual and racist crap and then alerted the media to report on it. It was all a giant set up and they are the victims.

46. Maybe Shep and Anderson Cooper will follow Shuster's lead....

Shep's already been getting hate mail since he lost it about the torture issue, then the Holocaust Museum murder.

Shine a light on racism and bigotry at FR, then in the "conservative" Republican Party, in the extremist religious groups controlling the Republican Party, and then shine that light on racism in America in general so people can see how pervasive and insidious it really is. Not a thing of the past at all.

I've only seen Shuster's afternoon show a little bit here and there, but Tamryn Hall (sp?) seems pretty good.
