"After twittering our intention to examine the racism on freerepublic, now the conservative site spews homphobia."

Yep, that's pretty much what they're about.

5. My first thought too, but obviously, Mr. Schuster is not as well
acquainted with FR as we are.

He's in for one hell of an education.

That's the second goof-up someone pointed out to me in this thread (and now it's too late to edit it).

27. I wasn't gonna post it, 'til I saw the second one.
My proofreader's eye catches these things all the time (except my own, of course!) and I usually ignore 'em. Sorry I didn't let you know about this one in time to fix it.

The FReeps remind me more of mad dogs that need to be put away (not down) for the sake of society.

13. Mr. Shuster... spend a few weeks actually reading FR... it is more than racism and homophobia
It's:

- Treason (Many calls for violent revolution)

- mysogeny (against equality for women)

- fascism (Corporations and government should be one and the same)

- anti-intellectualism (pro-creationism, anti-evolution, anti-science)

- xenophobia (hatred for almost all european nations, mexico, middle east nations... etc)

- illiteracy (ever seen a freeper type a whole post without spelling something wrong?)

- Puritanical (these people are afraid of sex)

Racism and homophobia are just the tip of the iceberg

And hopefully, he WILL study it closely, and report on his findings beyond the racism and homophobia.

35. agree! and, a spelling correction
misogyny a helpful mnemonic = MISs O is a GYNecologist.

I'm always champing at the bit to correct grammar and spelling errors, but I rarely do. :dilemma:

But since other people are doing it on this thread......... I can't hold back!

ANYWAY, regardless of any of that, you've got an excellent list here! :headbang:

16. I heard they're already implying Shuster is gay.
Edited on Sun Jul-12-09 09:39 PM by Berry Cool
That's probably what this is about.

Really, you'd think they'd try asking his wife first.

(Not that being married to someone of the opposite sex precludes being gay, but Shuster just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would go beard-hunting if that were the case.)

But there you have it...that's the kind of people we are dealing with. Catch them doing something hopelessly racist and inexcusable, and the best they can come up with is lies, deflections, and accusations about their accusers. One of the worst, of course, being that they are...oh noes...GAY!! :scared:

Freepers have a thing about hanging the "Gay Tag" on folks they disagree with. Recently, they've been circulating a pic with KO, Anderson Cooper, and Schuster photoshopped into "Code Pink" gear and make-up. Creepy lot over there.

19. Not a recent development. The most vicious homophobia has long been rampant there.
Chortling over AIDS, praising Islamists for executing gays -- it's all good at the Freep.

But I think lots of folks aren't aware of them, and don't get how low and disgusting they really are.

I do hope that Schuster shines a high-beam spotlight on them.

33. Yep! It's been all over their site since their Malia-palooza
"Shuster's gay!" And showing really shittily Photoshopped pictures of Shuster (with Anderson Cooper and Keith O) wearing pink shirts and participating in a gay pride parade. As if that's just sooo horrible! Oh Lord, where are my smelling salts??

They have somehow managed to actually compound their stupidity. Which, is pretty damn impressive for Freepers.
