Don't Them Racists Senators Make You Proud to be an Amurekan??
The Republican Senators today hit and nailed every racist high note in their song book. If anyone around the world wants to know what Repbulican "wink, wink" politics is, you only needed to have watched the "show". They pulled out all their code words, their code images, and showed the mentality from straight off the old plantation, delivered by the sweet drawl of Mr. Sessions. This country hasn't grown far in 150 years. We just hide the hate a little better. But, them damn Republicans can just go so long before they can't contain it any longer and have to spew it in front of the world. So, America, maybe we need to shut the hell up and clean up our own filth before we lecture unto the world.

3. Sas--and that is exactly what was going on today
It is shameful to see them try to score points with the Limbaugh-listening type crowd at the expense of making this country look like a slime pit to those watching around the world!

4. The only thing I can do is stare admirely at a black and white photo of William Tecumseh Sherman,
and chant "Meurte al Sur".

7. sas---are we twins?
I'm a Civil War buff and historian - which is a wierd thing for a woman. AND, I absolutely love Sherman (and adore his memoirs). I swear to God, I am the reincarnation of that man...temper and all! He was so goddamn mad that the South would try to destroy "the great experiment" after only such a short time (to the delight of kings and emperors who were praying to see this "democracy" thing fall flat on it's face). He lived in the south. He loved the south. And he gave them one damn piece of his mind when he went north to join the Union army again.

2. Keep in mind that they are there not because of FAIRNESS nor valid votes . . .
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 04:41 PM by defendandprotect
they are there because the CIA financed right wing Senators and Reps --

They are there because of stolen elections -- and distorted polling -- lies.

And they are there because of political violence --

from assassinations to GOP fascist rallies and a Supreme Court which which became

"activist" to do dirty work for the Bush EE --

Not only are they assassinating leadership -- for decades they've been assassinating

even rising leadership --

And they are swamped with money from corporations which do not support ideals

of democracy nor free speech nor a free press.

5. defend--as someone put it
Someone recently in an editorial pointed out that there is no difference today between us the Russia. Both are now Oligarchy (sp.?) states. The people are bled dry to support and prop up the wealthy (the wealthy now days - despite their cry to the contrary - need to have an infusion of our tax money from time to time to remain wealthy). This country kissed democracy goodbye so long ago that it doesn't even have a clue what that is anymore. I'm not sure, actually, if it ever did. It's just a word to get the masses all liquored up and storming whatever ramparts the rich want them to storm.

6. Agree . . .
and you can't have democracy without economic democracy . . . which we never had.

:)

8. defend--agree
The rich abhore "economic democracy". What drives me over the edge is the ignorant common man in this country who thinks these bastards care. They don't provide "the jobs" anymore. They seek the cheapest labor they can find and would rather slit an American worker's throat than look at him--blue and WHITE collar alike. Until the "fable" is destroyed, the Limbaugh's will keep these pathetic animals voting against themselves forever.
