I missed it, who broke the teleprompter?!

The broken glass of the TelePrompTer lies at the base of the podium as President Barack Obama speaks at the at the Urban and Metropolitan Policy Roundtable at the Eisenhower Old Executive Office Building in Washington Monday, July 13, 2009.

6. He did fine with the one TOTUS that was left.
Something like that happened to Bill Clinton and he didn't skip a beat. I don't think Junior ever had that kind of proplem because his head still looks unexploded.

14. IIRC...the scroll stopped in the Clinton incident...
no one knew anything had happened, Bill just kept on going for some 17 minutes or so, while not as dramatic as TR being shot during a speech and continuing on...it ranks up there w/the great moments of dealing w/situtions that crop up.

If this happened to bush, he would have gotten that stupid look, tucked and rolled right off the platform...:D

7. Not the first time
"What am I going to tell the president when I tell him his teleprompter is broken?"

What will he do then?"

Biden joked at the ceremony in Colorado Springs, Col.

11. Jeez, it smashed mid-speech!

RIP, TOTUS

In what was an otherwise dry speech by the president about urban issues in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building today, a bit of levity. One of the two panels of President Obama's teleprompter (sometimes referred to jokingly as "TOTUS") came crashing down mid-speech.
