. . .yet that didn't STOP ANYONE, NOT ONE HATEFUL MOTHERFUCKER (2nd time I used MF this morning) from calling him an American hating reverse racist. Think about it.

Jeremiah Wright serving his country in the service and being LBJ's nurse is not enough to exonerate him, however the cop in the Gates incident trying to save Reggie Lewis does exonerate him?

The truth is not as simple as some would make it. President Obama said the Cambridge PD "acted stupidly" he did not call them racist. Furthermore the issues is complicated by the fact that law enforcement, even Blacks in law enforcement, often profile and act based on upon race, but might not necessarily be racist.

I would dare say a significant number of Americans of every race and professions subconsciously allow race to influence our response to others and/or particular situations however they does not necessarily make these folks racist.

A cop who is in his personal life and dealings is not RACIST, may still allow race to influence his decisions/reactions on the job. If we are going to address this problem we have to be able to move beyond the surface.

3. Apparently to some, you have to burn crosses and wear white robes to be even remotely racist.....
.....that denial, and the inability to deal with the everyday latent racism, is why this country has such a difficult time moving forward when it comes to race.

4. And my main point is we really need to re-evaluate how we look at racism. . .
. . .almost remove the stigma of racism to an extent. There is blatant racism (of the cross burning variety) and there is the more subtle racism carried out by folks who are most likely not racist.

and wrapped the "swadling clothes" himself. When people act stupidly or say stupid things regardless of other good works and deeds in their life, they deserve to be called on it whether it be the cop or the reverend...
