The Cato Institute: Their View of Health Care Reform
http://healthcare.cato.org/campaign

This from their website:

Health care reform is needed. However, reforms that increase the role of government and an already massive federal budget deficit – as many proposals would – are bad medicine. The Cato Institute is undertaking nationwide outreach on how free-market reforms, increased consumer choice, and energized competition – not more government control – improve health care's quality and affordability. This includes outreach through national newspapers and radio stations, and a new web site of key resources.

I am so disgusted with this sort of propaganda. The link takes you to the full-page ad in today's LA Times.

1. More choice of the gouging, unregulated insurance companies. I can't do work today I am so mad from
last night's media hate fest and sense this is all slipping away. Even incremental, reasonable change.

When I saw the ad in the paper today, I just about blew my stack!

I hope Obama holds his ground.

3. BUT - the free market model had its chance
And we do not see increased competition OR, more importantly, a reduction in costs.
When insurance is brought into the mix, it has a habit of bloating prices exponentially to ensure that everyone NEEDS insurance.

If not government to take on a more active role - then who? Free market profiteers are in it for the money - and they have beem making fistfuls by not providing the care they are supposed to.....

Money is the bottom line for these jokers...

NOT making the nation healthier.
