New Poll: Bush only up SIX in South Carolina

A new Rasmussen poll has Bush's lead in the Palmetto state at just 6 points, down from 17 in July

In addition to cutting the Bush lead to 6 and earning a visit from John Edwards, the South Carolina Democratic Party outraised its Republican counterpart for the month of August.

1. You can forget about South Carolina
The Kerry campaign has to worry about to many other states (including several blue states) that are much closer than South Carolina. There's no way the campaign is going to devote scare resources to South Carolina at this point.

3. Well, just because Kerry's not campaigning there is not a good enough
reason to discourage the Dems in the state to keep working hard and try to GOTV.

No Democrat in South Carolina should "forget about South Carolina."

8. We're not!! I'm seeing more and more Kerry stickers --
Three cars this morning alone. AND... SEVERAL Veterans for Kerry banners. All strategically placed for GREAT visibility. We may not win the state, but we can 'fer sure make Dubya spend some time/energy/money here. That would be good in any scenario!

10. Good! I think my state (nc) and yours (sc) COULD go to Kerry
despite what the know-it-alls from elsewhere say.

Erskine Bowles (the Dem running for Edwards' old Senate seat) is up 10 POINTS over the Repub running.

The Dem Governor here is up 15 points over the Repub.

5. I put this in the same category as Kerry barely leading in NY and NJ
SC is part of Bush's Solid South.

6. SC has had a Democratic Senator forever and ever ....
And even if Dems don't spend time and money in SC, neither will be the Repukes.

People will vote even without commercial hype and rallies.

7. this is a fight that we can win big.
now's the time to pull out all the stops. Talk to everyone you know.

and SC is just as ripe as any other state... There are a LOT of folks out there who don't care about voting because they don't like the Shrub but don't think they like Kerry either.

It's time we make them see that Kerry is not just a guy to vote for instead of *, but that he is a damned fine character who will be a DAMNED FANTASTIC PRESIDENT!!

9. Kerry Has a Better Chance in South Carolina than in North Carolina.
As crazy as that sounds, the poll you posted here, wyethwire, is similar to many others that show Kerry doing far better than Gore did in South Carolina.

11. use sharpton
He should go to SC and rally the troops for Kerry. That way it doesn't cost Kerry any time or his own campaign resources and I really think it could help a little bit at least.
