But it doesn't matter. He has already provided a CERTIFIED copy, and that is legal proof of birth in any court in the land, and it's all he can obtain under the law. Hawaii cannot turn over originals. They must retain possession of them.

...and when I requested a copy of my birth certif, I got something that clearly was a copy from old microfische ~~ light and dark reversed. Worked perfectly for what I needed. So...what was it that the birthers think I was suppose to get?

a certified copy from the state I was born in. They did not ask me if I wanted an "original" or "long form." They asked me if I wanted a certified or non-certified.

Kerry had all forms on his website and after signing for 3 newspapers to get all his forms directly from the Navy - they were per the 3 papers ... exactly the same -except there was one cover sheet recommending him for accelerated promotion from his last Vietnam report that Kerry had not had.

Here, the birthers will not believe ANY birth certificate unless it says Obama was not born in Hawaii - though it is completely obvious that he was. Then, Kerry's records couldn't be complete - because they included nothing that was damaging and much that was praiseworthy. In both cases, you had people who became invested in fantasies of their own making. But, Obama is a native born American and he is President - even if that hurts their heads - just as Kerry really is a war hero, respected as such by the men in his boat.

BTW Chuck you do admit that 2 Newspapers printed his birth announcement and that the head of
the Hawaii Dept. of Health said that the the birth certificate is legit what more do you want?

I don't have mine. Its lost. It was up to my mom and she cant find it. The other original is kept by the health department and when i ask for a copy, i get a new digital version. This digital version is, of course, completely legit

If he has some sort of detailed paperwork that his family got at birth, that's very sweet. Especially if it has tiny footprints. But because such can be forged (no, really, it CAN) it does not meet the legal criteria for proof that a CERTIFIED document from the state does.

The REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR OF HAWAII has verified Obama's birthplace. There are birth announcements in the paper. He's provided them a legal document.
