Putting aside the fact that George Bush would have sold both of his kidneys for an approval rating in the mid-50s when he left office, do they not realize that President Obama's falling approval is almost certainly due to the fact that people really DESPISE Republicans and feel that Obama isn't pushing back enough?

Seriously, what else do they attribute it to? Nobody who is literate and who isn't a Bush dead ender seriously believes that any of Obama's policies fall under the definition of "socialism", no matter how broadly defined. And I would suspect that most non-Republicans realize that a one or two year spike in the deficit was needed to plug the gigantic hole in the money supply and probably saved us from a much worse economic crisis. I also suspect that most Americans see the irony in the sudden concern over the deficit from a party that supported both Bush's tax cuts (which cost $1.4 trillion) and the Iraq War (which, in addition to the loss of life and reputation, will end up costing us about $2 trillion in the long-term).

1. They're playing the fear card once again
Too many people are asking Obama if health care reform means that they can't get the medical care they need, and Dems on the Hill simply haven't organized a strong rebuttal to this. They're forgetting how to frame.

3. Most people are seeing the numbers come back up on their stock
and retirement plans no matter what lies the media tells them.
