Hold the Presses... Could there be an upside to the crazy birthers and town hall maulers
Could this actually unite us as Democrats to move and get the things that need to be done, steamrolling the republicans if we have to.

Could we actually take the reigns of power and move it along.

Can we unite as Democrats here in the DU to work to get our changes through.

If listening to the birthers and town hall maulers does not get all of us moving and united, nothing will!!

Lets take their crazy and make it work for us.. Unite us..

1. I agree 100%, this is a motivator against them.
These people seem to believe they speak for a vast majority.

I think they are going to find out they are not.

9. Maybe, but I'm skeptical since they're the ones who started the whole birther thing....
Hard for me to picture the people who started it suddenly rallying *against* it.

It would be welcome, of course.

12. I was scared during the campaign but I have to admit I wasn't
prepared for how crazy it was going to get if (when) we won. I think it's high time we really stand up and be heard, as you say. It's gone beyond crazy out there.

6. Well, it does work better when we are united to fight Republicans then when Dems are fighting
amongst ourselves.

I do feel like that campaign "get out and fight the Republicans" spirit is back.

something positive out of all this frustration!

"Town Hall Maulers" is an apt description, Peacetrain..there's got to be a way to deal with loud disruptors who won't let others be heard. Have we not learned anything from the Miami brownshirts who shut down the voting process?

15. Rhett I am talking about a brown shirt attempt to stop democracy
at the town hall level, and use it as political fodder in the coming months to take back power. If the right gets back in power using these tactics, what happened in the last 8 years will seem like a cake walk.

18. I am hoping their incredible arrogance will put some spine into the Dems in Congress
and give us Democrats the idea that these people, while fools, bigots, whatever else, are our enemy, the enemies of the USA, of decency and of rational, effective, real democracy and that they MUST BE STOPPED.

They are laughable, but they are dangerous and they are serious, and it is about time Democrats got their heads out of their asses and realised it.

We have to act together in ALL upcoming elections, and get more seats in congress, get our president re-elected, get another Democrat ready for 2016....

How about when one of these clowns starts spouting off in a town hall, the people around him beat him fucking bloody and unconscious? Bet we'd see that shit end pretty quickly.

21. Well I heard Rep. Doggett say today that after his mauling, he is even
more determined to make a robust public option happen for the people of his district. He was aware that people had been bussed in to disrupt his townhall. If there are Dems who are wavering, I hope the brownshirts have this effect on all of them.
