I am so tired...
Of dangerous bullies ruining the town hall meetings for all of us

Of big pharma getting their way, day after day...

Of the big insurance companies smiling quietly as we lose any meaningful chance at health reform...

I am tired of being ground into the dirt by so-called Democrats who are selling our souls...

And for what?

So they can live the life of ease?

At our expense?

Who will come to our aid?

Who?

For I am tired, and no longer able to raise the battle flag...

1. I think that is part of the intent, wear down with despair.
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 12:32 AM by RandomThoughts
cheer up, I believe things will work out in the end :)

But I understand it tries to get me frustrated also.

It is hard when what you know is wrong, is what you see people do, you want to just talk to the people and explain how ridiculous it is. Sometimes it helps to try and not be angry at the thugs, they don't know any better, they really think they are right because they had their free will stolen by being lied to and not given the information to think on things, and with anger added into it they are not rational.

I find comfort in thinking that one of God's first gift to people was 'free will', and I think those that steal 'free will' are going to be held to account.

3. *We* will come to our aid, your aid, the aid of one another.
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 12:39 AM by NYC_SKP
Don't give up hope, Dear Peggy!

We are NOT outnumbered, we are NOT out-strategized, we will persevere.

And when one of us is too tired to raise the battle flag, millions of others are in line to take up the cause.

Rest up.

We've got your back.

9. the AFL is coming to our aid
and we will come to our own aid. remember, we WON this election. We overcame voter fraud, election fraud, illegal DOJ prosecutions of dems, purged voters by the hundreds of thousands, and much much more.

WE won.

Yes, we can and yes we fucking will!

It's rough right now, but don't let them wear your hope down. hope is the antidote to fear and despair. Fear and despair are what allow the Fascists to win.

And dammit, we did win the election!

It's easy to forget that in the face of all this crap.

Thank you...

11. aw, Peggy
I feel the same way...just sharing with you the things I tell myself to get myself through the days. Hope it helped:-) I wrote a piece on it earlier today, adn just kind of summed it up here. We're not alone and we're not powerless. They just want us to think that.

14. Yes, CaliforniaPeggy. I am tired too.
I am not too tired to keep shouting and arguing and fighting. But I'm tired.

I'm sick of having to fight up-hill against a system that presumes that profits are a just and reasonable motive for denying people their health and even their lives.

I am sick of politicians that pretend that they represent us, paying us only lip service. while they sit down daily with the lobbyists and representatives of those same profit-motivated corporations who don't value our health or our lives.

Who will come to our aid? That's a damned good question. When will the people we elect really represent us? When will they work for our benefit and well-being first and foremost?

We have a party with no courage to aspire to anything except power, and power corrupts. The Democratic Party is so poisoned with corruption that even with a supposedly bullet-proof majority they can't get anything significant done.

We have a party with no apparent core beliefs, no central ethic to hold the party together, and without that the party hasn't been able to rise up and hold itself together at all. We have instead a disorganized party that wastes opportunities.

We're going to get health care reform no matter how foolish the haters behave. So sit back and enjoy laughing at their lunacy.

17. The Townhall BirthBaggers are the saddest of all.
Pumped full of lies and rage by the likes of Limbaugh, Beck, and Fox "News", they go to these things and scream and screech to prevent debate and discussion. That is so un-American I can hardly believe what I am seeing.

Where on earth did we ever get the loony idea that bin Laden and his band of desert-dwellers are the worst threat facing America? They attacked us once. Once. Extreme conservative terrorists like the BirthBaggers attack America every single day. They are harming our nation and our future in ways that bin Laden could only dream of.

War on Terror? That's nuts. We need a War On Conservative Extremism! It's a life or death struggle for this country.

you have always been one of the rocks I've always admired..... I was watching Rachel last night and just felt defeated too with all the money that's going into beating real health care reform, but we can't let "them" win, we just can't. Please don't give up.

19. There's plenty of reason to be re-energized
Within a year we have a black man who is President and a Latina woman who is a Supreme Justice for life which means the screeching and baying Town Hall disrupters are loud but not the majority. It means that for the first time in our history the white men are not in control.

They're pissed off because in their eyes their traditional slaves and maids are now their leaders. Take heart. They're just cry baby losers having a very undignified tantrum.

22. My Mama used to always say:
"I am wounded, but not slain. I'll lay me down and bleed a while then rise to fight again."

(There a brazillion people listed for this quote)

That's my motto. I have been fighting in SC for so long that I don't remember too many pauses.

Hang in there!
