Best week of the Obama presidency so far?
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 09:56 AM by Politics_Guy25
What a week!! I am literally overjoyed at the unemployment report this morning. It was better than I dare was hoping last night and we all know that so many of our dreams depend on that number. So, let's see this week, we have had:
1. A deal saving cash for clunkers in the senate-President Obama to sign soon.
2. Presidents Clinton and Obama along with VP Gore and Secretary Clinton heros for collaborating in rescuing our poor young journalists in NK. A triumph for the form of diplomacy promised during President Obama's campaign and a RESOUNDING foreign policy success.
3. Judge Sotomayor's historic overwhelming senate confirmation 68-31.
4. President Obama saying that health care will be done with our without GOP support and promising a bill.
5. Save the best for last. Media left dumbfounded as unemployment DROPS for the first time since August 2008 and comes in FAR better than expected at 9.4%. Stock market up 100. This is proof that the American Recovery Act IS working (which is what the key issue will be in 2010 and 2012)

I cannot ever recall a president ever having a better week on as many fronts as President Obama had this week. Can you? And this is even sweeter since things were on the edge last week. What a turnaround.

Presidents don't have this kind of week very often and also countries as what is good for President Obama is good for us. Now, we just have to get health care passed and we're set.

1. It's nice to see some positives.
However, I don't think any healthcare bill that actually
gets passed will do much good for anyone except business.

2. How about people with pre-existing conditions? Or outlawing
insurance companies using rescissions as an excuse to deny coverage? Those two positives alone will make any reform well worth it for individuals.

5. Yes it was a good week and Happy Birthday for our President!
This week makes the "Riot Squad" even more frustrated.

It is sad but true.... if a group of my African American friends broke into a Town Hall meeting and decided that they would disrupt in this manner, what would happen?

They would all be arrested and taken straight to jail. They would not be allowed to pass GO.
