Seriously, what are the town hall meetings achieving?
wouldn't it be better to be in DC actually getting agreement on the bill and moving it forward.

as well as coming up with a unified communication strategy for it that outlines what basic ingredients and final bill will have:

1) universal health care for all
2) your healthcare will be covered even if you lose your health insurance
3) no more going into bankruptcy to pay medical bills
4) no more forgoing treatments because you cannot afford them
5) no more having to decide to not eat or pay rent to afford your health insurance
6) no more uncovered "preexisting conditions"
7) government will intervene to keep costs down for Americans

1. Providing an enemy organizing forum.
That is all. There is no need for this. It would be preferable to pass something quickly.

4. THAT, in itself is worth the price of admission.
I hope we get some enterprising videographers at some of these places, taking lots of video... following these white racists home..making sure we get full police records on these losers.

For the most part, I see these "town halls" as the last hurrah for racist zenophobic lawbreakers.

Maybe one or two of them will get to have the next 10 years of their life spent in jail for threatening another human being with bodily harm.. Maybe another 100 or 200 of them will pay massive fines.

Maybe we will see the end of the Republican crypto-fascist health insurance industry financed insurrection .. fines of 4 to 10 billion for insurance companies, loss of several homes for the executives. Some serious jail time for those who organized and financed this, including people at Fox Noise.

3. I'm looking forward to meeting with my Rep near the end of
this month. I want to know about what ideas are out there and what's being considered. The meetings go into October; the media try to tell us that only this month is what counts.

Many people want to meet with their representatives to find out what the ideas are and what's at stake. There is no bill as yet. There are only ideas.
