Has Chris Mathews ever had someone from Code Pink on Hardball?
Anyone remember? Has he ever given what the media always calls the left wing lunatics air time? Perhaps Chris only caters to the far right views.

1. more important. Has he ever had "random provocative dude" from progressive side on?
I mean, Code Pink is at least an organization with charter, etc. This would be more like plucking some protest dude off the street and asking him to opine.

4. You make a very good point there.
I really should have thought of that. This is even worse than having someone from code pink on his bs show.

7. No, it was m$nbc iirc, several years ago. Something about an
anti-war t-shirt she was wearing. I think she got thrown out of somewhere because of it.

And it was more than once. I know it was on MSNBC, as I don't watch CNN or FOX. I'm quite sure it was on Hardball.

His gun was loaded. The 'new face' of the opposition to health care.

23. I thought I heard Matthews say that! The guy did say he thought Obama was
the legitmate President, but that wasn't good enough for Tweety so he kept pressing him on the birther issue to which the guy said he had heard about it but hadn't researched it so he didn't know if there was merit (paraphrased).

Parading nuts around is not a way to win people to your side.

This guy is an embarrassment and being shown as such.

24. No I'm not.
Code Pink does outlandish things for attention and it turns people off.

Many Americans aren't enjoying watching these town halls fall to chaos. They don't like it.

When someone is parading outside a building where the president is, with a gun, it turns people off.

Code Pink might have merit in their cause, but the way they go about it turns people off and makes THEM the butt of the joke.

Well this nut, with a gun, is now THE story and it undercuts their entire movement. Just as it's been since Day One with this debate.

26. I think it just goes to amplify every nut out there.
You, my friend, are thinking as a reasoned person. That guy right now is receiving congratulations and happy words from all of his nutty friends. His mailbox is full of positive feedback and he probably made about 10,000 new friends today.

Sure he's a nut. You see it and I see it and I'm sure just about everyone on DU can clearly see it, but Chris gave a random nut a spotlight on cable news today by interviewing him. He let him speak and he even agreed with him on a couple of points. I guarantee you there's some idiot out there looking at the tv who agrees with him too. Maybe agrees too strongly.

We're going down a bad road here man.

29. No, I think it does.
But I think it turns off a majority of Americans.

The nuts will stick together and mentally masturbate over this.

That's what they do.

But to a good chunk of America, they're thinking, "What the hell?"

And that turns them off. They don't want to associate with nutty people.

Now if you want to debate whether the ends justify the means in this case (possibly stoking more nutties), then you might have a point.

But I think, ultimately, this is going to be their unraveling.

31. I think you're now seeing the point I'm trying to make now Irishman.
And if something isn't clear from the get-go, then it is usually the fault of the writer, and not the reader.

One thing-

"The nuts will stick together and mentally masturbate over this." -This quote from you in your last post is the thing that I have the biggest problem with. That's what some nuts do, most nuts even, but not all of them, and that's what concerns me. We've exposed the birthers, sure, but they're still out there bitting at our ankles. Sometimes light is a good thing for exposing the dark underbelly, but I think Chris could shed light on this idiot without having him on the show.

Lol, maybe if all of that was in my op we'd be having a different and even more interesting discussion.

34. It's just a mess right now.
I don't ever remember this much hatred from the left toward Bush.

We protested. We shouted. We took to the streets. But nothing like this. This is sickening and scary and down right pathetic.

It's not what I expected when Obama took the Oath of Office. I felt so safe and comfortable that moment.

Now I just don't know what to feel.

18. I usually like Chris, but on the subject of Advance Directives
for end of life choices, he has been a bumbling fool. It amazes me to think that he himself does not have such wills in place, for the sake of his loved ones. He acts as if considering such things is somehow evil, but he does not seem to comprehend that if one does want extreme measures to be taken to extend their life at the end, they really need to have Advance Directives which say so in the language of the law.
I've been greatly disappointed in him over this.
