GEICO Pulls Its Ads from Glenn Beck Show
Great news -- yet another major company has acted in response to our campaign calling on Glenn Beck's advertisers to stop supporting his show. GEICO told us that they will no longer run ads during Beck's show.

This comes on the heels of news last week that four other advertisers -- Lawyers.com, Progressive Insurance, Procter & Gamble, and SC Johnson -- also distanced themselves from Beck. None of this would have been possible without the thousands of people -- more than 75,000, now -- who have taken action and signed our petition to Glenn Beck's advertisers. more at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-rucker/geico-pulls-its-ads-from_b_256724.html

4. No chance....ratings are everything...Typically stations will just bide their time and as usual
people will forget and they continue onward.

10. Ratings drive advertising, and ad revenue is everything
Without these major advertisers, Beck is in trouble. Now I'll go cry myself to sleep.....changed my mind. I'll laugh my butt off instead.

3. If good citizenship won't persuade his corporate masters, ad revenue being pulled will
Excellent news for us, bad news for the would-be poisoner of the Speaker of the House.

7. It amazes me he has a show
at all.

Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" was cancelled after he made one comment that offended some people. Beck spends day after day whining about Nazi's and making racist remarks and he stays on.

And people say the media has a liberal bias.

9. GEICO is an ins. co., right? Why would it distance itself from Beck, when Beck is
pushing what ins. cos. want?

This is all so confusing sometimes.

18. The Money Was Shuffled to Other Fox Shows
Edited on Wed Aug-12-09 10:18 AM by otohara
so now instead of seeing Geico during Beck's hour, you'll see those spots air in O'Really or Insanity's hour. You can bet the bank that Fox said, look...don't run on Beck, instead we'll give you extra spots, better times...etc...what ever it took to keep the Geico dollars on Fox.

They bought around Beck - but did not pull any ad revenues from Fox.

Result, no harm done to Fox.
