Pro-health-cost system sucker: "A socialist health program would lead to loss of private health insurance and higher costs and more dead people."

Me: "A single-payer system would pay for itself. No one one would have to pay premiums or deductibles, costing people less, not more. Individuals and families wouldn't suffer medical bankruptcy. No insurance company hack will be able to tell a physician what they can/cannot do. No one can be denied coverage."

Pro-health-cost system sucker: pause

"But a socialist health program would lead to loss of private health insurance and higher costs and more dead people."

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: (pause) These go to eleven.

2. Here's a good one....
Talking to a friend, TRUE STORY:

Friend: My doctor wanted me to get a CAT scan immediately, but I can't afford it, so I told him I would have to wait.

Me: Your insurance won't cover it?

Friend: I haven't met my $500 deductible--so I have to pay that, and then insurance only covers 80% of the cost of the test, so I have to come up with somewhere around six or seven hundred dollars.

Later that day while discussing Health care with her and a few other people, she says:

"I don't want the government messing with my health care."

I swear, half the problem with these anti-health care reform people is that they've been getting screwed for so long they don't know anything else.
