don't really pay much attention to sports. Never really been in charge of much of anything:-) I am extremely glad the man I voted for is President, but I am really starting to get pissed off at all the other over 50 year old white guys ranting and raving and generally making our whole (human) race look like a bunch of complete nut jobs.

My family consists of in-laws who are in their 90s, cousins who are in their 60s, siblings who are 60+, children in their 20-30s. None of them are unhappy about Obama being in the WH.

In fact my 89 year old father in law, WWII veteran said he would find a way to leave the country if McCain got elected. He thought Sarah Palin was cute but aside from her winks he didn't think there was a whole lot there.

Soon we will be welcoming an African American daughter-in-law into the family. Our Asian niece will join in the festivities, as will our Gay friends. Why is any of this a problem for people who don't even know us? Why should anyone care?

Progressives don't live in the past. We welcome positive change, in fact we embrace it if it is for the good of all of us.

The racist haters only have their past memories to look upon. When they felt in control, when blacks and women had to show them deferrence and when it was okay to beat or kill those they dispised.

The world has changed and they can't control it or stop it. They are unwilling to embrace the amazing opportunities life has to offer them simply because they are afraid.

Are you offended by the word "boogie"?
Do you like music that has drums?
Do you eat meat that hasn't been boiled grey?
Do you like learning and taking part in other cultures?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you might be infected with the "colored", I hear they have an agenda.

There are things about which I am not happy, but it has ever been that way. Maybe my old age I am becoming too cynical to be always bent out of shape.

I have a Republican friend though who is really pissed and bent out of shape. In fact when I tried to talk with him about healthcare the other day I thought he would blow a gasket, but then he listens to Rushbo a lot.
