Is It Time For More Change?
"We are here; we're not going away. We voted for change a few months ago. We expect change. And if we don't get it, there's going to be more change."

- Gov. Howard Dean, M.D. (June 25, 2009)

I come back from camping to find out that it looks like I'm getting the Republican wet dream called an "insurance co-op" instead of the "public option", that was itself a poor relation to single payer.

Fuck.

Remind me again why we worked hard and contributed a fortune to get a Democratic president and large Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress? So Rahm Emanuel can get rewarded with many more millions at a phony Wall Street job for doing an even better job for his patrons this time 'round?

Fuck that.

If we don't get at least a real public option, I'm thinking that it's time for the "more change" option. Anyone else with Dr. Dean and me?

6. I'm with you.
I said when all this started that the public option *was* the compromise position. If we can't even hold onto the compromise...well, that's a loss. I didn't vote these people in so that they could surrender to mere noise.

They surrendered. My course is obvious.

7. We just got started.
8 months out of 8 years. Yeah we have some time left to do a thing or two. And I'll be here waving at the ones who spent like drunken sailors from the Bush administration. Just put it on their tab! :hi:
