As well as subsequent Posts in the same vein..... FrenchieCat (1000+ posts) Fri Jun-19-09 03:13 PM Original message I'm sure you've Noticed that the Media is "On-Board"...... Edited on Fri Jun-19-09 03:29 PM by FrenchieCat attempting to kill the Public Option, so...... I suspect perhaps it is the advertising dollars that network and cable television receives year in, year out from big pharma, etc... I think that this issue needs to be addressed, and WE need to do something about this slant I'm picking up on. Anytime reporters are practically stating that the Public Option is DOA, before the bill is even offered, you know there some media colusion going on, and I don't like it. So I humbly suggest that we bombard the media (as well all congresscritters) this entire weekend. If you Twit, then do it....in reference to this media bias. If you email or call, then do so! This is important, and I'll be damned if I wait till after-the-fact to figure out that if pressure would have been applied to the media and their reporting to be more even handed, and less opinionated without any facts, that we could have made a difference. Hell, if a Joke from Letterman can garnet the kind of media attention it did, why can't our many letters and phone calls refferencing the reportage of the Health Care issue? So come on keyboard commandos, let's get it done this weekend....for everyone's fathers..... and mothers, and for the children, for that matter! Here's some listing and tools (in more ways than one!) They're already complicit and therefore responsible for the theft of the 2000 election, the re-election of Bush, getting us into war and for the looting of our treasury. I'm sick of their shit, and I'm not taking it anymore! We all need to be sick of this shit! Contact your congresscritter using this tool: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/congdir.tt

FrenchieCat (1000+ posts) Wed Jul-22-09 11:15 AM Original message We have to Fight the media and congress, because this is a Life or Death matter! Just like we fought against the Iraq war back in 2001-2002, we have to fight again. We lost that one, but we can't afford to lose this one. The good news is that the Left has made much progress in communications in the last 7 years. The bad news is that we can't sit back and hope that others make it happen; we have to get involved in fighting the propaganda being spread by the media as we speak.
If we all do a small part, then we can possibly hit back at the tide of institutional enemies who are now fighting against any Health Care reform.
We lose this fight, and the chances of winning others become miniscule. Those holding out for Single Payer Health, please know that we need you now, regardless of what it is that you want....because at this rate, we won't be getting anything ever (or something close to that). I told you so is not an option that helps those Americans who are desperate. Please send out some emails and make some calls and show the aggresive enemy that this ain't about breaking the President, this is about Americans. It ain't about Obamacare, it's about AmeriCare! It's about not allowing the media to once again excert their influence over the populace and persuading them that what is bad for them is good for them. Let the media know that we already pay for healthcare now. Yes, we pay for the healthcare of the uninsured, so the money being spent on healthcare will be spent regardless...but without any reform, we will be killing folks rather than making them well at generally the same cost. Also let them know that if we could afford the war of choice that they so supported at the cost of a trillion dollars, then we can afford health care reform. Come on...let's get this done! They have to make some loud noise, and we have to do it now. It is a matter of Life and Death, and nothing less.(again, I gave the media list) http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8541889

FrenchieCat (1000+ posts) Mon Aug-03-09 09:19 PM Original message Shouldn't we be growing "balls" and going after these Conservative Nutcases? Edited on Mon Aug-03-09 09:20 PM by FrenchieCat I mean, are we going to let them stop health care reform with their shoutdowns at Town Halls and shit? Are we going to allow them to do what they did in Florida when they shut down the recount? They got what they want then.....and we just sat by and let them have it. Seems like unless we now are willing to do something, we are may be the ones lacking a pair....no? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8567977
In otherwords, while I was screaming for action, folks were relaxing, pining for a single payer (which never had a prayer), or criticizing the President for who knows what that day.....
So now, folks can either get the fuck up and try harder to getting this health care reform passed, or we can just say "fuck it", blame the President, end up with nothing, and look forward to Republican rule in 3 short years.
WE ARE THE ONES THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR..... AND LAST I CHECKED, WE ARE STILL WAITING!
