OMG! Now conservative NPR is IN ON IT!
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=111936073

Repeating AP's shoddy reporting! It can't be because pulling wire stories is a part of the lazy end of profit-driven journalism; it's because NPR is a part of the conservative corporatist cabal controlling our media!

Down with National Public Radio! All journalists working for National Public Radio are conservative whores beholden to corporate interests! National Public... Public...

... wait a minute...

5. PBS, too!
Yeah! Down with the conservative corporatist media! They're all alike!

"Public?" Bah! I'm going to ignore the fact that public media in this country is partially funded through taxpayers, the rest of which comes from public and foundation contributions! It's much easier for me to lump all media together and assume that they all operate with the same political mindset. That way, I can blame an entire institution anytime the politics of the day don't go my way!

Soooo THERE!

3. Bill Kristol and Nina Totenberg began a long-standing affair in the mid-90s.
That's where all the rot came in.

Look it up!

10. Please forgive my evil twin's attempt at irony.
I've been reviewing the OP, and it seems that what it was attempting to do is underscore the mindless way we politicize the media when the media make serious errors. Instead of noticing that these errors are facets of the incestuous relationship between Washington journalists and political groups in DC, and that wire reports - the economical means through which news organizations fill space - can quickly circulate bad information, many of us prefer to characterize bad reporting that does us a political disservice as somehow being in "cahoots" with "the other side."

I'm sure that my evil twin understands well that National Public Radio doesn't have the same corporate economic structure as other news media outlets, and that accusing NPR of being a part of "the conservative corporatist media" is a tad ironic given their being less beholden to corporate interests.

Anyway, I have now instructed my evil twin, as an apology to GDP, to write a 50-page essay on the condition of public reason in America. I'm sure that will be sufficient punishment.

13. They ALL report in favor of a corporatist outlook
They are not interested in being labeled kooks or losing revenue by reporting the view that they're told is out of the mainstream. Consequently, most of the "liberal" media sides with moderate Democrats while the conservative media sides with Republicans. None of the mainstream outlets have any interest in reporting from progressives in Congress unless they're being mocked.

14. You are right, sandnsea.
I can hardly listen to NPR when they are talking politics. And they have completely capitulated on the health care reform issue, it is all corporate speak all the time.
