Apparently, the "reframing" memo is out - there is no "public option."

I waded into the "parade of propaganda" cesspool this morning and within the span of five minutes they must have said "Government run or state-run option" a dozen times. They're not even pretending anymore.

2. While not factually incorrect, it's an obvious effort to reframe the policy with a loaded term.
Maybe i'm just too sensitive to these sorts of rhetorical tactics.

3. True. "government run"=nasty, mean, "public"=nice, friendly, you and me.
To that crowd, "government" = Waco and Ruby Ridge and Gun Control and Death Panels...

Also, "them" vs "us".

4. I understand, but maybe it's better to embrace it
Compare it to Medicare a little more.

Another thing we could do is see how well workman's comp reform worked. Most states moved from a strictly state centralized system to insurance company management. I think most businesses still go through the "public option" anyway. Maybe making that comparison would be helpful. I don't have any statistics or info on happiness with that reform. I know for the worker it sucks because it removes compensation from the employer to that "damned insurance company" that the employer just can't do a thing about. So they say. We have to make our case better than they are.

5. You've got to love fox news for its
entertainment value. Yesterday they reported that the "death panels" have been removed from the Senate bill. What a relief! :eyes:

6. 99% of the people watching FUX "News" have already drank the Kool-Aid anyway.
At this point they are just preaching to the choir.
