1. I imagine that some groups have made the connections, perhaps opensecrets would be a
resource.

3. Oh for the love of Holy Shit - how come no one told me this -
According to Open Secrets, Harry Reid is # 3 in receiving money from Health Professionals, # 4 from the Insurance companies, # 4 from Pharmaceuticals, #1 from Lobbyists. He's ahead of chuck Grassley in every category.

Anyone want to take a wild ass guess why we're having so many problems in the Senate?!?

5. OK, done. I'd still like to see a column listing recipients and
expected vote. I've got to go to work now, but if anyone else has a lot of time on their hands?

8. Here, one thing that these charts do not do is split PAC donations
from donations of people who work for the companies. While it is true that there could be a company effort to get employees to contribute to "good" Senators, much of this money is simply the sum of what employees gave because they liked them.

I also wish they would eliminate the money raised for Presidential runs for Kerry, McCain, Kucinich and Dodd (and any other current Congress person who ran for President.) Now, I readily admit to being a Kerry supporter - so the reason I care is obvious. He will be high in every single industry, because he followed Howard Dean's lead in opting out of public financing. (Dean helped the party by doing this first.) But, it also disturbs me because it would be very easy to remove those dollars - resulting in comparisons that make more sense.

It would also be good if they found a way to adjust the lifetime numbers they compare to account for the number of races fought. Alternatively, they could compare the last Senate run of each.
