Ah! it suddenly dawned on me
Kent Conrad was one of the first Senators to endorse candidate Obama, hence
the monolithic attitude or shall we say Grand Standing by him.

I've always wondered why would he be so sure about PO not being included and
according to him, PO was never on the table, after careful consideration I
finally found the answer.

Basically he is blackmailing the President because of his early support, thats
why you see the softly approach from the White House.

Well, goddam it, throw this son of a bitch under bus now before he brings
down your Presidency.

2. An endorsement from a Blue Dog isn't worth a whole lot.

5. Yeah but Obama supporters were excited about many endorsements.

If Obama thinks he owes it to Conrad to scuttle a viable public option he's terribly mistaken. Obama would be pleasing a senator but losing the support of a large amount of Democrats. Not a good tradeoff. Throw Kent a bone some other way.

4. Wow that is pretty insightful.. I completely forgot about that..
Or maybe I had never really taken it in in the first place that Conrad was one of the Presidents original endorsers.

I am not ready to throw the blue dogs under the bus.

It is the blue dogs who are getting DADT legislation brought up.

Everybody has a seat at the table..they just can't hog the meal.. so to speak

6. They could be
doing a good job on DADT but on health care which IMO is much more pressing,
they have so far shown that they have one interest and one interest only, and
that is the interest of the insurance companies.
