Time for Obama to give his Gettysburg speech.

Americans own their government, the government is us, and we take care of each other.

As long as a good number of Americans view the gub'mint as the enemy, we're in trouble.

And if you really mean a Gettysburg Address, then it has to come after a big victory: as in a health insurance reform bill passed with a vigorous, viable public option.

3. I don't think the Gettysburg speech was so much celebrating a

victory as it was a statement of first principles and explanation of why t was necessary to fight for the Union.

"that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. "

If we lose this fight, does that mean we have lost government by the people, for the people?

When did so many of our citizens come to see the government as an enemy instead of as our pride?
