Candidates Peparing for Debates - Bush is Rehearsing
He'd better do more than rehearse. He needs to learn how to compose a genuine thought!! :)

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-09-19-presidential-debates_x.htm

Bush, who has begun rehearsals at his Texas ranch, Camp David and the White House, could seal the deal with wavering voters who have concerns about his stewardship of the economy and the war with Iraq.

Kerry, who has been reading Bush's campaign speeches to find potential lines of attack, could use the debates as an opening to make the case to those same voters that he offers a trustworthy alternative.

4. All he has to do is rehearse, most likely
I am betting he knows every question that will be asked.

Even if he didn't, it's not like he will have to actually think on his feet or address questions he wasn't expecting.

He will get up there, ramble on about staying the course, accuse Kerry of "flip-flopping", make some completely irrelevant and totally skewered generalization, butcher a well-known phrase, and babble incoherently whenever he is asked a question until the person asking the question gets embarrassed for him and moves on as though the question had been answered satisfactorily.

6. Agree
The sickening part is that it has been enough so far.
Will this time be any different???

8. My biggest concern is that it will be a repeat of the 2000 debates
Bush mumbled like an idiot and said some of the dumbest things I had ever heard in my life (I say had because at the time I thought it would be the dumbest things I would ever hear, and didn't imagine that Bush would steal the election).

But reporters didn't challenge Bush, they didn't question anything he said, and people starting gushing about what a great speaker he was even though they knew for themselves that it wasn't true.

The media went back to the public, only showed brief soundbytes of Bush, and told the masses that he did well. And people believed it.

11. It's different this time because we are at war
With Kerry timing his speech about every bungle he has made in the war effort, it will make asshole have to change his line of attack. And if mentions anything that Kerry mentioned this morning the Dem message is going to have to be that he lifted the ideas from kerry's plan. I think the Kerry people know exactly what they are doing.

16. Exactly!
There were a bunch of times when Bush just rambled on and on until his time ran out without actually saying anything substantive. It was infuriating and I remember watching the debates and yelling at the TV, "He didn't answer the goddamned question!" (I still yell at the TV whenever they show him speaking, but it's usually something like, "Liar!")

Naturally, the media invariably reported, "Bush won it again!"

7. Bush is practicing his patented hunch and bob in the mirror
No one in the world can hunch over a podium and then bob his head up-and-down, up-and-down, up-and down like George Bush when he tries to make a point. He's a master of the hunch and bob.

9. Bush is memorizing three answers and perfecting his delivery.
The plan is for him to use and repeat these three answers, regardless of the questions.

19. Also something about Evil DUers and Terraists and 9-11.

Gotta work those into all 3 answers.

Actually, maybe that was Evil Dewars, although I should think he'd have more against DU than against Scotch whiskey.

12. All he's going to say
is that we need to stay the course and he's going to help us from terrorists who hate us for our freedoms. No matter what the topic or what Kerry says, that will be his response. And stupid people all over the country will nod in agreement. Gawd, did Rove lobotomize half the nation while we were sleeping or what?

18. There was a "This Modern World"...
from February of 2001 that has proven to be the perfect template for every speech Shrubby has given while in offce. It went something like this: "Ladies and gentlemen, good evening. Lies, lies, lies. Simplistic misrepresentation of facts. Self-serving hypocritical rhetoric and more damned lies. Thank you. Good night."
