Coffee, doughnuts, (pie ) for everyone. Credit Card bill goes into effect today. We will use the
:nuke: on Health Care if we have to.. but first we are going to show the rest of the country what total @sshats the republicans are for refusing any sign of Bi-Partisanship.. Smart move guys

Looks like we might even ratchet down NK a little. Gods speed (I am a Christian so deal with it.. I will not shove it down your throat, but will not hide it either ;)) to the Afghan's on their elections.

Looks like jobs are picking up in the auto industry.. Good news, just what we need. Housing starts are up for the 5th straight month.

Just so many things to be happy with as we start turning these bad corners. I am seeing lots more than green shoots.

AP source: White House projects lower deficit
By JIM KUHNHENN and PHILIP ELLIOTT, AP

WASHINGTON — The federal budget picture will look slightly better next week. Relatively speaking.

The White House plans to announce the federal deficit will still be a record breaker, at $1.58 trillion, for the current 2009 fiscal year. But the amount is about $262 billion less than officials predicted earlier this year.

5. Man Oh Man . . . THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

This was such a refreshing post!! Thanks so much for reminding us all why it's a **good thing** to have a Democratic president in office, as hard as it is to tell that Obama is a Democrat and on our side from your average DU discussion. Or the latest Glen Greenwald rant.

I hadn't yet heard about the housing starts for the most recently reported month or the job outloook improving with the car companies. Thanks. Hopefully, by this time next year the economy will have gotten back on its "Democrat in White House = Good Times" rhythm.

Thanks again for the great post. Massive K & R. Good morning! :toast: :hi:

Home construction up for 5th month in a row

New U.S. home sales jumped in June by the largest amount in more than eight years as buyers took advantage of bargain prices, low interest rates and a federal tax credit for first-time homeowners.

6. While all those things are things to celebrate....
Mr glass half empty (ME) wasnt real happy with these numbers this morning.

UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS REPORT

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA

In the week ending Aug. 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 576,000, an increase of 15,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 561,000. The 4-week moving average was 570,000, an increase of 4,250 from the previous week's revised average of 565,750.

If you OR I was one of those unemployed, there would be little reason for celebration.

Now, back to your party:bounce:

8. As the jobs pick up in construction.. it will not come to everyone one at once
And you are damn straight about that.. you cannot celebrate when the wolf is at the door.. But to see construction jobs increase in country.. these are not jobs being shipped out.. is a GOOD thing.

18. Yes, the construction jobs are a great thing. I do wish, however,
MORE was being done to get manufacturing back into our country. In order to do that, the insane tariff laws must be changed back to where they were before raygun.

9. Obama must love you
With such loyal supporters, he'll be able to drop the public option and reach out even more to Republicans. Keep up the good work!

11. The only folks helping the Republicans and the Media are those
who rail against Obama about everything he does.

No Magic Negro for them, and they can barely stand it.
