Health Care... One way or another.. It is getting done. Kapish

Edit to add.. he is at a town hall on C-Span as we speak

Edit another comment.. Private business cannot just dump their insurance (small buisness exception to people who cannot afford to provide insurance) .. there is a clause to be included.

1. The damn question is - WHAT is going to get done? No single payer, worse-than-nothing "public"
option, mandatory purchase from the insurance gangsters...

And, to win this great "victory," the President and the Democrats in Congress are pouring all that powder they saved during the Bushista years into the toilet.

For what? To piss of their base. To appeal to the reich-wingers. To blow the best chance for real progress this country has seen in decades.

Way to go, Dems.

2. No Caps on insurance, and no pre-existing clauses.
Insurance reform is the belt.. Public Option is the suspenders.. to cover everyone.

5. Looking at all things that can help everyone.. building the large coalition
possible to get this through. 80% of people are covered by private insurance, so we need insurance reform also, along with public option.....

12. Shades of FDR.
"If we can not do this one way, we will do it another, but do it we shall." -FDR

I only wish he had been more clear about what he intended to do. If he had made the above statement about a single-payer plan, I would have been impressed.

19. Oh, I know.
He said we would do "it" with or without them, just like FDR did. But Obama did not make clear what "it" would be. Thus, my lack of enthusiasm. If he said we were going to enact single payer with or without Republican assistance, I would have been thrilled.

16. Every one is going to have to buy some kind of affordable insurance
based on a sliding scale, and there will be hardship exemptions for those who cannot afford it.. but everyone is going to be covered with affordable care.
