(thereof, I suppose)... but I have seen this hysteria posted on other forums which I frequent. Allow me to offer the following?
1. your ISP, and any website which you subscribe to, and any website which you visit... keep LOGS of your IP address, the files which you have accessed, and any INPUT you have placed thereon -- why should CARS.ORG be any different?
2. your ISP, and any website to which you subscribe... maintain said LOGS for some (undetermined) period of time... they want to know if you are a "malicious user" (trying to infiltrate their system, trying to leave virus files/etc. behind, which may infect their system or even the computers of other users of their system)... why should CARS.oRG be any different?
3. simply VISITING a website really says NOTHING about "you" specifically (other than examples in item #1)... but, you will note there is a BUTTON on the CARS.ORG website... where
DEALERS can LOG IN (if you're not a dealer, you're not likely to get "in" unless you are trying to HACK their system)
4. furthermore: other than examples in items#1 it is the DEALERS to whom these "warnings" are being addressed (not the casual visitor who may be there out of "curiosity" -- for example, to read the FAQ) ... while the DEALER is LOGGED IN, the computer which they are using is a "terminal" on that FEDERAL SYSTEM -- and as such, is bound by the TOS goto:
http://www.cars.gov/dealer and you'll see several buttons along the right side of that page... where DEALERS must register (if they want to participate in "cash for clunkers" and also where they must ABIDE BY the disposal regulations which accompany said program)
5. IMO: Glenn BECK is a complete idiot (but, I thought that to be obvious to anyone with 1/2 a brain)
Bottom line? If you are a normal ordinary everyday "web surfer" who happens to visit CARS.ORG to "browse around" ... you have nothing more to fear than "browsing any other of billions of websites" .....that is to say..... unless you are there to cause mischief, hack their database, and try to FRAUDULENTLY collect the $4500 for car/s which you did NOT "sell" as part of this program... and/or did NOT "scrap" the trade-in/s, in compliance, with this program.
...just my 2cents

P.S. ignore all of the above ....
