A fine example of the Military/Media/Government complex in this country...
To rebut Tom Ridge's recent allegations that the color coded terror alerts where sometimes manipulated for political reasons, CNN calls on their Homeland Security consultant, Fran Townsend.

Now Fran was supposedly in the room while these discussions were being taken and she, I am paraphrasing here, said there was absolutely no political manipulation involved.

I guess that story is over, imply CNN news readers, we have our own consultant and she refutes the allegations.

This is just the latest in a growing number of retired defense personal within and with out the US Defense Department who are still shilling for the US Military. They are now under guise as consultants and presented as uninterested experts and for the most part, continue to tow the Pentagon line.

I don't know about you but when I see so-called experts who have recent ties, by that I mean any connection at all with the military industrial complex, touting any position on CNN, MSNBC or CBS, ABC and NBC, I strongly consider the source.

So Fran, as if being from the recent Bush Administration isn't enough of a stain, is now making her money as a Homeland Security consultant working with Baker Botts Law Firm. Yep, that Baker.

Glad she cleared all that up.

To tell you the truth, I don't know who to believe on this but given the highly politicized nature of the recent Bush Administration, I'm leaning toward believing Ridge.

1. I'm with you on this one.
And since when does a supposed news channel have anything to say about the political policies of the US Government?

That strikes me as way out of line. But that's just me...

So...first she shilled for the Bush administration...and now she's doing it for CNN...

So much for her credentials.
