I think this needs to be more widely disseminated

Notice the years 1980 to 1988, when Reagan was in office and was dealing with the Carter recession, a much smaller recession than the Bush recession. Independents need to realize that Republican solutions to our problems were very ineffective, and already Obama has taken control of the worst economic crisis since the 1930s.

2. I was paid organizer during Carter-Reagan

After volunteering for the Ted Kennedy campaign, I got a paid job with the Carter campaign. I read a ton of stuff on Carter, and frankly he was hard to support. Remember that he deregulated the trucking industry, which was initially an economic disaster that turned the Teamsters against the Democrats. Carter was certainly far better than Reagan, but he was by and large a conservative Democratic, a blue dog!
