Independent Women's Forum: Lying
Sure sounds like a nice pro-women sight, sorry to say it is not. I saw their ad on the tube just shortly ago and had to see the site, my curiosity got the better of me.

The ad tries to claim that cancer survival in the states is better than that of the UK as well as making other false accusations about NHS.

I hate to have you click the link to that site, but you may not other wise see the ad. http://www.iwf.org/ the ad is right at the top.

2. They've been blanketing the Reno airwaves
In the add she suggests that 500,000 women would have died of breast cancer if their health care were govt controlled. This add is outdoing the only progressive add 4:1.

4. Factcheck.org debunked this
Giuliani is continuing to make this claim, most recently at a campaign event in Iowa, according to the Quad-City Times. Actually, the United States’ five-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is about 89 percent, according to the National Cancer Institute. By contrast, the most recent available five-year survival rates in France, England and Canada were 85 percent, 81 percent and 86 percent, respectively. Even taking into account the difficulties with international comparisons, this is at most a spread of 8 percentage points. Describing 89 percent as “much greater” than 81 percent is a stretch, in our judgment.

So no. The survival rate in the US for breast cancer is not "much higher" than the one in the UUK. 8%is not a big number. http://www.factcheck.org/bogus_cancer_stats_again.html
