A relative of mine was born (in a hospital) a couple of years after BO's alleged birth date. He was circumcised also (as a matter of routine, not according to any family request).

I think if a parent objected, they wouldn't do it, but they'd put a lot of pressure on the parent to have it done. Back then it was like ... "Don't you realize that all boys who are not circumcised will DIE?"

My only child, a daughter, was born in the early 70's. Since you didn't know the sex back then, the doctor discussed circumcision with me. They do it right after the baby is born, so I had to sign a form giving them permission. I know a few parents who chose not to circumcize.

This reminds me of some of the books I've read on lynching. I'll first by stating that lynching and hangings are two extremely different things. Blacks experienced lynchings, and even to this day you'll hear of them. While Whites experienced hangings.

I realize that I am a person who is extremely hypersensitive to such things and as such I could be reading it in a way that is slightly different. But I do find many of the people to be plain racist or at least enablers of racism---which just means their racist anyway.

That being said, when I read about how much they wanted to see his penis as a form of some sort of proof it reminded me of the acts in lynching. Where Whites who acted out, would desecrate the body after death by removing te genitalia and in some cases taking it home as souvenirs. Actually I've heard of the same being done BEFORE they killed the individual. In a way, when I think of their need for seeing that it has a macabre angle as well as sickening perversity in order to denounce how "non-human" he would be.

I just find the entire thing disgusting. Plus they don't even realize---if they don't even relate it to lynching---how much it would seem like a methodology the SS would use in order to determine who was Jewish and who was not. my son was born right here in the conterminous 48 states, and I had to sign a statement saying I gave the Dr./Hospital permission to circumsize my son, before we went home...that was in 1962 in California...NO hospital takes the liberty to do that procedure, just because...it IS considered an unnecessary procedure, and DOES require parental permission..they are nuts, and I'd be pissed if any hospital had done that to my son without my giving permission...wb
