Like he was left with a choice. The GOP's lies and Bush regime's crimes put my country into the toilet simply for greed and ego/power lust. They are no different today, maybe even worse. The TARP bill went through DURING THE ELECTION - Bush's thugs planned and delivered the payoff to their backers in finance. The "stimulus" bill was necessary because Bush fucked the nation into a depression and it appears to be WORKING - at least things are stabilizing. Health care reform is VITAL to the health of the country and the economy as well.

The last time I heard this shit, this morning on MSNBC News, I turned them off. I have NO news programming to watch on the weekends now - they are all full of themselves and have nothing real to tell me.
I'm watching old Rock bands on VH1 instead - more educational.

1. Charlie Cook said it on MSNBC. Obama should have punted on cap and trade and Health Care.
Uggghhh.

Well, now we have the Pundits and news people saying Obama is doing too much while a lot of the Democrats are bitching at him for not doing enough.

Lovely.

10. Cook is going all over the place spreading his "wisdom" and the media and pundits treat
it like it must be true because he is saying it. This is the new CW, I'm sure.

Someone else posted that on CNN they were saying why couldn't Obama have done this in a bipartisan manner, instead he is dividing the country.

The Stupid - it burns...

I remember how Obama was doing it all wrong when he ran for President also. All the "experts" told us so. I worry about the Democrats in Congress buying this crap more then Obama. Not the Progressives, the Blue Dogs and mushy middle.

11. It's a freakin' shame that our great country has
such a mediawhore choke on the airwaves.

But, the facts and the truth will out..there's more than one way to climb the mountain and claim victory.

16. Charlie Cook apparently has health insurance.
Edited on Sat Aug-22-09 06:36 PM by Hansel
So why should he give a sh*t?

I'm so sick of these pompous asses saying he should have delayed health care reform while every one of them is fully insured.

There is an urgent need right now. The numbers of people dying from lack of affordable health care options far far surpassed the total number of Americans killed by terrorists ever. So why wasn't Charlie out there saying that Bush should have delayed his war on terrorism so he didn't have to take too much on in his 1st year.

It is just should a stupid thing to say. If the Democrats knew anything about framing an issue, no one would ever make this asinine statement.

Edits for typos.

17. I know. It is infuriating. I actually think this is what Obama means when he says the Public
Option is just a part of the plan. He recognizes the importance of getting health care to the uninsured, getting rid of the pre-existing conditions exclusions, getting rid of the caps on total expenditures. Sometimes people don't act like those are critically important reforms that need to be made NOW but they are literally killing people every day - which is also a reason to be pissed at Carville's "let them filibuster and run on it next time" which is idiotic for an entire host of reasons but one of which is you are screwing over the people that need help now. Yes, they may not be in lines at the town halls screaming at their Congressperson but we certainly saw them in lines to get free health care out in LA a week or so ago.

"Well, okay, Barack, here's a humungous deficit I ran up--and oh yeah, I didn't even include the costs of the wars!--plus we are lower than shit in the eyes of the world. Uh, you have six months to one-eighty this. Okay! Back to the Lone Star State for me!"

6. And if he weren't doing all he is, they'd say he wasn't doing enough.
We have a lot of incredibly pressing problems. Like you said, he doesn't have a choice. I used to think there was some hope for the MSM, but I'm done with them now.

13. If McCain/Palin had won, and we were way out of control in the shitter
of history's worst depression, they wouild be kissing the GOP's elephant ass and blaming the "libruls".

I'm old, but I am learning from younger people here and starting to get my news from the internet rather than TV.

9. This is simply their way of saying they want him to do nothing, which benifits them
Whenever you take on a big issue you risk an awful lot...but better to risk then do nothing at all.

Every single RW nutjob in the country about whether or not they liked his version. And then he seemed to not so much defend his version of the HC "reform" but to back down.

Maybe when you are a quarterback on a winning team, and they hand you the ball, and you only have five yards to go, you should just run with the damn ball instead of stopping to kindly considerately ask the other side what they want done with the ball?!?

He came in with 62% of the vote. (They LOST!) Seventy six per cent of all Americans know we need Universal Single Payer HC. And over 18,000 people a year die from not having insurance.

It is an EMERGENCY! And why he can't line up these simple talking points, I have no clue, except for the crumbs of caviar canapes leading from Rahm's office in the WH back to the insurance headquarters.

19. Frenchie, they really have nothing to say so they repeat lies they
know are lies, and then add to them. We used to have pretty good news programs but I really can find none of them actually reporting news rather than making assinine comments.
