Oh, noes! Michelle not only wears shorts, but a dress from Target
while deplaning from Air Force One!

The fashion police are in a tizzy with the whole shorts thing. What else do you wear to the Grand Canyon?

Now, the fact that someone discovered she was wearing a dress from "Tarzhay" (French pronunciation, please)
really has the fashionistas in an uproar!

Don't you just love Michelle? She's so refreshing--so real.

1. I guess they'd rather have her wearing the WH drapes like Laura.
Fuck the fashion police.

3. I really liked that dress---even before I knew where it came from.
No one would have known it was from Target. My Michelle always looks good.
Put her in a sack and she would look good.

5. Its times like these that CHANGE the face of things for the better -- Future 1st Ladies will look
at Michelle fondly for breaking the mold of what a 1st lady is allowed to wear. This uproar is not unsual and is quite common in other fields before a breakthrough happens. It's sad to think that to this day women are still forced into being/doing something they dont choose. I am glad Michelle is finally the first 1st lady to just want ot be herself. She will be remembered in history. Laura will not.

26. Babs is a rotund old lady -- shorts are not in her wardrobe, I guarantee you.
Women should wear what flatters them. Michelle Obama is tall, toned and in her 40s -- just about everything looks good on her, and she has the good taste to dress appropriately for every occasion. I simply do not get the so-called fashionistas.

9. Many of the people in the Media are the noveaux riche. The New
Rich always show their newness with a lack of class.
They are so taken with their own ability to now buy "designer"
they thinks this gives a chance to "look down and critique"
others.

The fact that Michelle relates fully the Middle Class and
is saying to people who can only afford to shop at Target:
Hey, Target Fashion is good.

The New Elites cannot swallow the idea of relating to the
Middle Class. After all, many of them worked to get out of
it.

You go, Michelle.

10. Oh noes! How common!
 Now some poor woman who can't afford anything other than a Target dress might put it on and think SHE looks as good as the First Lady of the United States!! She might even come to think she's as WORTHWHILE A PERSON as the First Lady of the United States!!

Can't have that!!...That would mean mass insurrections!!!!

...bwahahahahahahaha.

16. I can afford to buy my clothes almost anywhere. I get lots of my pants & tees at Target.
As well as nighties, underwear, and an occasional nice work top. (I'm not a dress gal, though. Pantyhose, be gone!)

My favorite purse, a messenger-type bag - got it at Target! (and there's an identical one at the top of my closet, waiting for me when my current one wears out; I got it on a terrific sale!)

Target has some nice stuff!

I have clothes from SteinMart, designer items from Dillards, clothes from Target and other discount places, Burlington's, Macy's....you name it. I defy anyone to tell the difference between the inexpensive and the expensive items. Even the designer items (I love Ralph Lauren! It lasts and lasts and lasts!), I got on a great sale.

A DOLLAR SAVED...ER...YOU KNOW....IS A DOLLAR EARNED! (and that is soooo true!)

Also, there is book coming out about her style called Mrs. O, the Face of Fashion Democracy.

So, it's not like she just added this cute dress as a "token" - hee, hee.

BTW, got the info from the link about the dress....

This story was generated by a reporter, not some political hack.

It caught legs because one reporter covered it so it became a "Media Story."

Another example of why the US media sucks
