Pundits saying that Kennedy would've gotten liberals in Senate to compromise.
Edited on Fri Aug-28-09 01:47 PM by jenmito
They're all repeating the Repub. line that HE would've taken "half a loaf" and would've compromised. This morning someone on Morning Joe even said he'd have gotten a bill probably WITHOUT a public option after talking to his fellow liberals. Only Lawrence O'Donnell said otherwise on MSNBC last night. It's unbelievable how stories get framed by the media and fed to the people.

1. Yeah. I guess free press means "Free to speculate, to commit
libel and slander, and to just outright lie" in order to serve their agenda.

Well, that's what _some_ people say.

2. Filthy bastards are using Teddy's memory
to cover up for the fact that they have done nothing but obstruct, delay, obfuscate and deny passage of this legislation, all the while blaming Democrats for not wanting to negotiate. A permanent pox on THEIR house.

6. Yup. Especially McCain and Hatch...
along with most of the "liberal" media. :eyes: I'm glad Lawrence O'Donnell pointed out that Kennedy DID have a bill which both McCain and Hatch voted AGAINST and he would NOT compromise on health care.

3. I'm glad that both Keith and Rachel have been covering that media meme
it's so annoying and transparent. And bowing to Pissypants Mccain in his talking points that the tone would have been so different if only Ted Kennedy were involved, because there would be more concessions! What a bunch of garbage.

7. I know. I just wish there were MORE Keiths and Rachels in the media...
listening to McCain and Hatch act like if only Kennedy were still here, they would've had a bill, is sickening. Especially since we know they REJECTED his bill. But the way McCain is portrayed as so sincere makes me even sicker.

11. I believe Sen. Kennedy had made it clear. The Public Option was
non negotiable and I have heard at least 2 reports that he
was for it being passed by Democrats very early on.

The Right will try to say Kennedy was the great compromiser.

Not on this, my friends.

12. Tamron Hall is now playing a Rachel Maddow clip from last night's show about how
McCain, Hatch, and Gregg voted against the Kennedy Bill even though they claimed a deal would've been reached if Kennedy were working with them.
