The Legacy of Ted Kennedy
For days in topics about Kennedy's passing, I would respond with a.. (.) That is because I could not put into words what TED KENNEDY did personally in my life. Because of him, I had welfare and food stamps to fall on when my Husband committed suicide, after being haunted by what he had to endure in Vietnam. I don't know what we would have done otherwise. The Family could have been split up had it not been for that to fall back on.

I was grateful for the WIC program that made sure my children were properly nourished in their formative years. He helped me with an education, so I could go to school and learn how to take care of myself and children.

Because TED KENNEDY was there in the Senate, MY LIFE PERSONALLY, right to the ground level, was made better because of this man. His legacy will live on, I look at my children with their children today. They would not be here, together as a family, had it not been for Ted Kennedy. Each of them know this...and his legacy will live on.

2. That is a lovely way to remember him
by his actions on behalf of others. Thanks for telling your story as a reminder of how much he cared for and understood the challenges facing ordinary people.

I will miss seeing him on C-Span fighting always for the working class. For a fair minimum wage, for an extension of unemployment benefits during hard times and on and on. I always felt better when I saw him in the Senate slapping down those who care nothing for the people they represent.
