Thom Hartmann just completed an interview with an idiot named Ron Brooke.
Ron Brooke said government run health care is stealing from someone else to give to yourself. He said all you are doing is allowing the government to steal for you. Thom Hartmann mentioned; that cancer cost people 4 million dollars throughout the treatment, but Ron said if you can't afford to pay then the hospital must say no. So in other words, you must die since you cannot afford to pay. That is a sick mentality. :puke:

1. Thom also just gave a shout-out to DU as being a good grass roots community to join
in order to shape our political/social climate.

Ron Brooke is a mean spirited ass.

3. Their arguments are being widdled down to being stupid especially for the religious right...
...and their logic which no one but big Ed has hit them on.

I've asked conservatives and few of them argue against reforms for preconditions and basically no one argues FOR being kicked off insurance roles after paying premiums when you get sick.

They just don't know reThugs are currently for that...

4. Ron Brooke did not beat around the bush he said he is against government run
fire departments as well. He only wants police and military. He wants people to pay. By the way he is a doctor. We know why he became a doctor. He became a doctor to treat the health and well endowed.

6. Thom also said that Obama is not pushing a public option, because
he'll need the money from insurance companies to win reelection.

8. I honestly don't get that. Didn't Obama get more money from small contributions
Edited on Mon Aug-31-09 12:32 PM by Go2Peace
than the health care industry by a large mark? Why would he feel the need to cow-tow to them then? I suppose the threat of that money being used against him?

Why isn't he pushing for finance reform?

I say make it illegal for anyone but an individual to lobby our representatives or contribute to campaigns, including "bundline. And that includes NGO's (NGOs are only necessary to fight the power of the corporate class, even better for people would be to level the field).

10. I agree with Thom. I believe Obama wants to do right, but I am not sure if he is willing to
fight for against the corporate interest.
