Will the media write stories about the 12% approval of Republicans in congress?

Don't hold your breath.

Today at least Ben Smith and Jake Tapper highlighted the fact that Obama's approval has decreased significantly since inauguration day, when he enjoyed a near-70% approval.

But why don't we ever hear about the people's attitudes towards Republicans? To the media, it's like Republicans don't exist. And what about conservative pundits? They love to stress the fact that Obama's approval hovers 50%. Is 12% good enough to them? Will they report this? New Harris poll:

Congress: 22% Excellent/Pretty good, 78% Only fair/poor (chart)
Hillary Clinton: 51 / 31

Republicans in Congress: 12 / 52

They will immediately go to those Republicans to find out what they have to say about everything Obama and the Democrats do!

is a HELLUVA LOT better rating than +/-20% There's hardly any comparison at all, let alone a reason to think that next year's midterm elections, which are WAY too early to call anyway, are going to turn into a 1994-style "bloodbath" for the Dems. It would be nice if the corporate mediawhores would put his ratings up side-by-side with the Pubs any day but, of course, they won't because, well, it just wouldn't serve their agenda.

Seriously, politico is calling this the lowest approval rating for congress in 24 years (see link at the bottom). Umm... did somebody forget that less then 2 years ago congress' approval rating hit single digits, just 9%, prompting a lot of jokes by comedians and people who write political comics? :eyes:
