Senator Wyden open to public option. Support up to 49?
Wyden:

The first question about health care was whether Wyden supported the "public option"

<...>

"I am very open to the public option, to anything that will contain health care costs," Wyden said, adding that under the most debated plan, 80 percent won't get any choice at all. "We have to have choices."

On Wednesday a group of local business owners spoke out in support of a public health insurance plan, and stated that they want Senator Wyden to "get off the fence" and join 45 other senators in their support of a public option. On Thursday Wyden told NewsWatch 12 that he is open to the public option, but mentioned his own Free Choice Proposal, which he said has the backing of 15 other senators.

3. Cloture -- 60-39. Conference report -- with a public option -- 53-46.
It's all shadowboxing.

5. Methinks the emphatic letters to his office may have had some impact
People in his neck of the woods (including many in the health professions- and in local health advocacy groups) have been none too pleased with his fence sitting on the issue.

6. I never had any doubts about Wyden
He has his own ideas about health care reform, a subject that he has worked on for quite some time. But he is a reliable democrat, not because he votes the way he is told by the leadership, but because based on what I know about him, he actually thinks like a true dem.

7. I've been saying it for awhile now.. we WILL get our public option for all!
It's looking really good. Pres Obama will be pushing for it big time soon, and will win over enough to get it passed.

8. Good
The last time that I called Wyden's office I told his staffers that he should drop his plan and get back the wishes of the President. I told them that w/o the public option that I, like millions of others, would not be able to afford health care regardless of whatever reforms they may pass. I shared my own personal health care needs that are not being met and the eventual outcome that will lead to. I can't help but wonder if all of our personal stories are getting through, if we are actually becoming human beings to them.

9. "if we are actually becoming human beings to them."
I doubt that.

However, thank you so much for calling Wyden and telling your story.

What you have done is let Wyden know that many people who care enough to call in (and thus VERY likely to actually vote) are wanting a strong public option for anyone who wants it.

For everyone who actually calls their representative, there are thousands who feel the same way but don't bother calling.

Again, thank you... for you have done your job for millions of Americans who NEED health insurance now!
