What a great opportunity for school kids to hear the US president LIVE.
Imagine yourself in grade school or middle school, and the president of the United States speaks to you LIVE, in your classroom or gymnasium.

I know that presidents have addressed students before. Were these live broadcasts?

1. Those poor parents, having to confront the outrageous indignity of
having their children listen to an address by the president.

2. It's sad that the few parents who object will raise their
children to be as ignorant and partisan as they are. And I wonder what those children will think of their parents once they reach adulthood...

3. Excellent points. Education goes on in all venues, and these parents
are providing a terrible example for their kids.

6. I know what
I think of my dad who didn't want me hanging out with my friend, who had a Black Father and a White mother, in Denver, way back in the day.

Thankfully his insecure bigotry didn't take on me..and there will be kids who don't get sucked into the ignorance of their parents.

8. Picture one of these students as an adult, 20 years from now:
"Yeah, it was so weird. My mom kept me home from school that day because the president was giving a speech to school children about education. She was convinced he was a communist or socialist or fascist, and she didn't want me 'indoctrinated'!"

at the moment but he's still across the world the most poular guy in town. It will be a huge event and that's what worries them the most on the right.

5. There are millions, janx, who voted for President
Obama and many of those people have kids who probably like the Prez, too. I hear a lot of students excited about Obama in office and why wouldn't they want to hear what he has to say about Education?

We get a lot of negative feedback here because the corporatemediawhores always build up that faction and marginalize the War Protesters.

7. Yeah, the media outlets do it to stir up controversy and get
those advertising $$$. They don't care that they're making some fringe conspiracy theorists appear legit.
