What went wrong since February/March
For the first 8 weeks or so, Obama was in charge. He seemed to be on a new course. More importantly, the WH was mocking Limpballs every day, to good effect. His popularity is dropping like Mark Sanford's pants. He's adopting a health care plan that might as well have been written by the insurance executives, and Glenn Beck is making personnel decisions for the administration, on the days when he isn't telling his minions to wave guns around at anyone who supports the president.

Why did he give up so quickly?

4. No, supporting an insurance-friendly helath care bill, and
firing staff because Glenn Beck calls for it is giving up. I'll try to write more slowly next time.

12. It's not the Van Jones bit
it's the capitulating to Glenn FUCKING Beck part.

That makes Obama a completely spine-free weakling.

5. Any post declaring the failure of this administration
less than 1 year into its term is automatic fail in my book.

If you have proof that you hopped into a time machine and saw the next 3+ years play out, bring it.

11. I attribute it to two things
The economy & Max Baucus.

Baucus killed momentum on health care.

15. i have been pondering this. it all comes down to the gnews. MSM gnews/teevee gnews.
they by nature were anti clinton. HAD to take down hillary. so they pushed obama. edwards was into poor people. the republikkklans all sucked, but mccrap's turn was 08. sorta like bob dole. sacrifical lamb. push him. well, it looked like obama could actually win and media gave hillary a 2nd look, it wouldn't be that bad. then palin enetered and the gnews knew they could play with her, but in no way give her credibility. and before we know it, obama wins in a landslide. happy happy joy joy and then
OH MY GOD HE IS MAKING US GNEWS WERK. WERK! and change and change is so hard.....
and he is so much SMARTER and gnews HATE a smarter president. they LOOOOOOVED georgee. now obama runs circles around them. bad president BAD.
they have to kill obama to remain the cool kids. no way is a geek gonna win in the high school of life.
shame obama graduated.
but america is left back a year, so the gnews wins! YAY!

18. Like I said, Obama was kicking ass in Feb-Mar.
Had Limpballs going nuts. Now Beck is deciding who gets to work in the admin. In 5 months he went from having the country in the palm of his hand, to cowering before the drunken psycho of Hate Radio. What happened?

23. ever notice how these kind of threads seem to come along
in waves?
For several days you don't see much of them, then they seem to all come thundering
through like the start of the Indy 500.

I sure would like to know who's in charge of waving the green flag for all this.

22. Bipartisanship.
He gave Republicans to much power by giving them an equal seat at the table. Even though they don't hold equal power in our government.

24. His going for Healthcare Reform so early on guaranteed his polls would drop big time
and Obama knew this. The rats come out of the woodshed and begin screaming socalism and redneck mom's come out crying at townhalls screaming they want their America back because there's a negro in the whitehouse.

When you look back there is not much Obama could do except to force through stronger plans so then the polls we see today would at least be more justified for being at those levels and we'd have a more stable economy and strong health bill while the right would still be screaming socialism.
