Obama gets a "modest bounce" in new poll
Keep in mind this is Rasmussen...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 33% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -5. That matches the best Approval Index rating for the President in over a month (see trends)...

The President’s speech also provided a modest bounce in support for his health care plans. Polling conducted after the speech shows that 47% of voters favor the reform proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats and opposition is down to 49%. Those figures are up a few points since the speech was given and match the lowest level of public opposition since June.

09/08 (before the Presidential address): 29% strongly approve 40% strongly disapprove.
09/11 (after the Presidential address): 34% strongly approve 39% strongly disapprove.

1. I saw a poll yesterday giving him a 12 pt bounce.
It was included in a story about two other polls from CNN and ABC, I believe, but I can't find the link or remember what polling company was. It'll probably surface somewhere.

2. Always manipulating by strongly, when we know he moved approval, generally.

3. It would be nice if people would stop posting rasmussen. Let the Red State
post it. There are plenty of other much more trustworthy polls.

4. If rasmussen says "modest" than it's huge.

5. i'd be glad if his approval was at 25 percent if he had stood by single payer as critical to reform

and equally, I'd be happy if polls were not posted at all because it is the same thing that gives us terrible television programming, keeps tabloids on the front racks at grocery stores, shoves PBS to the back burner of America's viewing habits and shows that people care more about what other people think then about what they, themselves, think.

Of course I hope everyone agrees, or I most certainly will backpeddle on that stand and let you have the final word.
