Snowe wants consensus

Olympia Snowe says Obama should give up on the public option in order to "build consesnus."
The first definition I see in the dictionary for consensus is "majority opinion"

Olympia, that happened in November. Now get with the program or get left behind!

I appreciate that President Obama shared many of the details of his vision for health reform at this pivotal and historic moment, and signaled a willingness to work across party lines. At the same time, as I continue to oppose the inclusion of a public option in any package, I would have preferred that the issue were taken off the table as I have urged the President – given that any bill with a public option will not pass the Senate and this divisive subject is unnecessarily delaying our ability to reach common ground.

The fact is, all Senate Republicans as well as some Democrats do not support the public option, which has also been generating concern across the country about a government takeover of health care that distracts from the legitimate necessity of providing more accessible and affordable health care for all Americans.

and ended up bragging about slashing pandemic preparedness funding from the stimulus in the middle of a pandemic.

If the Democrats have a lick of sense, they'll cut the Bobbsey twins from Maine right out of the equation.

We should cede an option that will deliver affordable health care to tens of millions so there can be "consensus" among Washington politicians. Keep the politicians happy. We don't want to step on toes or make them do their jobs or inconvenience them in any way. Make sure if you are about to die from lack of medical care, you do it out of their line of vision.
