FRAME: When referring to mailing something via US Post Office, refer to it as the Public Option
Say you have a card you'll send to Aunt Lizzy. Mention that you sent it via the Public Option.

If you need to send a check or document to someone, just say you'll be using the Public Option.

If you're at work and are sending documents to a client, mention to your co-workers that you'll use the Public Option...

1. But everyone can use the post office
Its not fire-walled. Its an actual option. Doesn't seem comparable.

5. Yeah, and if the health plan was pushed to postal also...
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 01:18 PM by Oregone
Everyone will be mandated to use snail mail (and pay for it) but only a few will qualify for USPS (so most will be force to use Fedex). Not really a straight parallel.

Mailed today? I can count on receiving them tomorrow. :D

Oh, by the way - I'm driving to the dentist this afternoon via the Public Option roads.

If we were on the schedule early in the day I bet they'd turn around even faster. Love that Pub Option!

4. "The house is on fire! Dial 911 for Public Option Fire Department!"
As opposed to the private fire department...

9. For that matter, when driving on streets or highways, refer to taking the Public Option.
But be sure to stay hydrated, so drink some public-option water before getting into your car.

18. I'm afraid that doesn't work. The wingnuts are alread tearing down the postal system,
calling it ineffective. Nothing works to break through to these people.

Perhaps another analogy:

Our public library system is the public option. And public libraries have not threatened Barnes & Nobles or Borders, last time I checked.

When my local public library didn't have any additional copies of "The Family," by Jeff Shafley, I ran out to Borders and purchased the book for $15.95. Had the book cost too much, I would have gone to the other nearest public library and checked it out there.

22. LOL! That's funny! Republicans don't care about the "libarry". That's where people go to
read about facist, socialist, pinko-commie terrorist devil-writings like evolution and science.

23. You know that's right, and it's sad. The other day, a Republican called me "irrational"
because I'm a Democrat.

I looked at him quixotically. This from the same party who elected Dumbya TWICE. The same party that put up Sarah Palin for its VP. The same party that has such disdain for intellectually curiosity and scientific inquiry.

I told him just that, too. Though he voted for Obama, he sometimes go down that road of Republicans being more "rational" and reasonable than liberals.

the public health care option. Which is here to improve peoples like all the other public services. Just calling it a public option is right but needs a little elaboration. I mean just to watch the you tube clips they clearly are very easily confused.
